Setup
The IMOU Smart WiFi Door & Window Sensor requires an IMOU Smart Gateway Hub to function. Please ensure your hub is set up and connected to your network before proceeding with sensor installation.
Video Guide: Initial Setup and Pairing
This video demonstrates powering on the alarm hub, setting up the network, and pairing the door/window sensor.
Step-by-Step Setup
- Power on the Alarm Hub: Connect your IMOU Smart Gateway Hub to a power source.
- Set up the Network: Open the IMOU Life app on your smartphone. Follow the in-app instructions to add your Zigbee Gateway (hub) and connect it to your Wi-Fi network. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the hub.
- Prepare the Sensor: The sensor requires a battery. Slide down the rear cover of the Door/Window Sensor to open it. Remove the battery insulation film to power on the product. Close the cover securely.
- Pair the Sensor: Place the Door/Window Sensor close to the alarm hub. Press and hold the reset button on the sensor for 5 seconds until the green LED flashes, indicating it's ready for networking. The hub's LED will also indicate pairing status.
- Confirm Pairing: Once successfully paired, the sensor's LED will stop flashing, and the IMOU Life app will confirm the device has been added.

Installation
The sensor features a compact design for easy installation. It can be installed anywhere in your home, such as on doors, windows, or cabinets. Use the adhesive backing to fix the main body of the sensor to the door or window frame, and the magnetic component to the moving part (door/window) itself. Ensure the two parts are aligned and within the specified trigger distance (25mm).

Maintenance
- Battery Life: The sensor boasts a battery life of more than 2 years (based on 20 activations per day).
- Low Voltage Reminder: The IMOU Life app will provide a low voltage reminder, indicating when the battery needs to be replaced. This helps ensure continuous operation and timely maintenance.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the sensor with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Troubleshooting
- Sensor Not Connecting/Pairing:
- Ensure the IMOU Smart Gateway Hub is powered on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Verify that the battery insulation film has been removed from the sensor.
- Make sure the sensor is within close proximity to the hub during the pairing process.
- Press and hold the reset button on the sensor for 5 seconds until the green LED flashes to re-enter pairing mode.
- No Notifications:
- Check your IMOU Life app settings to ensure notifications are enabled for the sensor.
- Verify your phone's notification settings for the IMOU Life app.
- Ensure the sensor and hub are connected and communicating properly (check device status in the app).
- False Alarms:
- Ensure the sensor and magnet are securely mounted and not shifting.
- Check the alignment of the sensor and magnet; they should be close enough (within 25mm) when the door/window is closed.
