  2. Processor (CPU) Installation

Carefully open the CPU socket retention arm. Align the Intel i7 4790 processor with the LGA1150 socket, ensuring the gold triangle on the CPU matches the triangle on the socket. Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it. Close the retention arm to secure the CPU.

  3. RAM (Memory) Installation

Open the clips on both ends of the DDR3 memory slots. Align the notches on the 8GB DDR3 RAM modules with the keys in the memory slots. Press down firmly on both ends of the RAM module until the clips snap into place. Install both 8GB modules into the available DDR3 slots for dual-channel operation.

  4. Storage Device Installation (M.2 / SATA)

For M.2 NVMe/NGFF SSDs: Locate the M.2 slots on the motherboard. Insert the M.2 SSD at an angle and then gently push it down, securing it with the provided screw. For SATA drives: Connect your SATA storage devices (HDD/SSD) to the SATA3.0 or SATA2.0 ports using the provided SATA cable. Ensure the power cable from your power supply is also connected to the drive.

  5. Power Supply Connection

Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from your power supply to the corresponding port on the motherboard. Also, connect the 8-pin 12V CPU power connector to the motherboard. Ensure your power supply is at least 500W to adequately support the system.

  6. Front Panel and Other Connections

Connect the front panel headers (Power Switch, Reset Switch, Power LED, HDD LED), front audio, and front USB ports (USB2.0, USB3.0) to their respective headers on the motherboard as indicated in Figure 4.1.

  7. Backplane Installation

Install the provided backplane (I/O shield) into your PC case before mounting the motherboard. This protects the rear I/O ports and prevents dust ingress.

5. Operating Instructions

Once all components are correctly installed and secured within your PC case, connect your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and power cable. Press the power button on your PC case. The system should boot up. You will need to install an operating system (e.g., Windows, Linux) onto your storage drive to use the computer. Refer to your operating system's installation guide for detailed steps.

For optimal performance, ensure all necessary drivers for the motherboard components (chipset, audio, LAN, etc.) are installed. These can be obtained by contacting JINGSHA customer service.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your PC:

  • Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from inside your PC case, especially from fans and heatsinks, using compressed air.
  • Cable Management: Ensure cables are neatly managed to improve airflow and prevent interference.
  • Software Updates: Keep your operating system and drivers updated to benefit from performance improvements and security patches.
  • BIOS Updates: Only update the BIOS if necessary and follow official instructions carefully. Incorrect BIOS updates can damage the motherboard.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power/No Boot:
    • Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU) are securely connected.
    • Verify your power supply is sufficient (at least 500W recommended).
    • Check front panel power switch connection to the motherboard.
  • No Display:
    • Ensure your monitor is connected to the correct display output (HDMI or VGA) on the motherboard.
    • Reseat RAM modules. Incorrectly seated RAM is a common cause of no display.
  • Component Variations: The color of the bottom plate of the slot may vary from batch to batch, but this does not affect product use or quality. Product design is continuously optimized.
  • Visual Discrepancies: Due to different monitors and lighting, the actual product color may slightly differ from images. Product images are for reference and may be edited to highlight features.
  • Damaged Package: If the package is damaged upon receipt, please take a video as proof and report it immediately.

8. User Tips

  • Power Supply: Always use a reliable power supply with at least 500W to ensure stable operation, especially when adding additional components like a dedicated graphics card.
  • Compatibility: While this kit includes compatible components, if you plan to upgrade or add other hardware, always check compatibility with the B85M-K motherboard specifications.
  • BIOS/Drivers: Keep your BIOS and drivers updated. Contact JINGSHA customer service for the latest BIOS files and drivers.
