2. Safety Information
- The electrode measurement pins are extremely sharp. Exercise caution when handling the instrument to prevent injury.
- Always cover the pins with the protective cap when the instrument is not in use.
- Do not attempt to measure live electrical circuits. This device is for wood moisture measurement only.
- Keep the device away from water and high humidity environments to prevent damage.
- Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open it.
- Insert one 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Batteries are not included in the package.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- Press the red Power On-Off button (6) to turn the meter on.
- The meter will automatically power off after approximately 15 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
- To manually turn off, press and hold the Power On-Off button (6).
5.2 Selecting Wood Groups
The meter has four built-in wood patterns (A, B, C, D) for precise testing across different wood species. Refer to the 'Wood Species Group Table' below to identify the correct group for your material.
- With the meter powered on, press the 'MODE' button (7) to cycle through the wood groups (A, B, C, D).
- Select the group that corresponds to the wood species you are testing. The selected group will be indicated on the LCD display (5).

5.3 Taking a Measurement
- Ensure the correct wood group is selected.
- Carefully remove the protective cap from the measurement pins.
- Firmly press the measurement pins (1) into the surface of the wood or material you wish to test. Ensure both pins penetrate the material.
- Read the moisture value displayed on the LCD screen (3). The value will be shown as a percentage (%).
- Once the measurement is complete, gently remove the pins from the material.

5.4 Hold Function
To freeze the current measurement reading on the display:
- While taking a measurement, press the 'HOLD' button (8). The 'HOLD' indicator (4) will appear on the LCD.
- The displayed value will remain fixed, allowing you to record it.
- Press the 'HOLD' button (8) again to release the hold function and resume live measurements.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the meter with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, always replace the protective cap over the measurement pins. Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: If the low battery icon (2) appears on the display, replace the 9V battery as soon as possible to ensure accurate readings.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Meter Not Turning On:
- Check if the battery is installed correctly with the right polarity.
- Replace the 9V battery with a new one. - Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the correct wood group is selected for the material being tested.
- Make sure the measurement pins are fully inserted into the material.
- Check if the pins are clean and free from debris or corrosion.
- Replace the battery if the low battery indicator is on. - 'HOLD' Indicator Stuck:
- Press the 'HOLD' button again to release the function.
