5. Installation and Setup

5.1 Mounting the Motor

  1. Ensure your drone frame is compatible with 19x19mm (M3) motor mounting patterns.
  2. Align the motor with the mounting holes on your drone's arm.
  3. Secure the motor using the provided 4 x M3*9 round head screws. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the motor or frame.

5.2 Electrical Connection

  1. Connect the 16AWG motor wires to your Electronic Speed Controller (ESC).
  2. Ensure correct polarity and phase connections. For brushless motors, the order of the three motor wires can be swapped to change the motor's rotation direction if needed.
  3. It is recommended to solder the motor wires directly to the ESC for a secure and low-resistance connection.
  4. Verify that your ESC is rated for 6S LiPo input and can handle the motor's maximum current of 77.8A.

5.3 Propeller Installation

  1. Choose propellers suitable for 9-10 inch models.
  2. Place the propeller onto the Φ5mm output shaft.
  3. Secure the propeller with the provided M5 anti-slip nut. Ensure the nut is tightened sufficiently to prevent the propeller from loosening during flight, but do not overtighten.

Common Issues and Solutions
ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Motor not spinning or stutteringLoose wire connection; ESC not calibrated; Damaged motor winding/bearing; Incorrect ESC settings.Check all solder joints and wire connections. Recalibrate ESCs. Inspect motor for physical damage. Verify ESC settings (e.g., motor timing).
Motor overheatingOver-propped; Excessive load; Insufficient airflow; Damaged bearings.Use smaller or less aggressive propellers. Reduce payload. Ensure adequate ventilation. Check and replace bearings if necessary.
Excessive vibration or noiseUnbalanced propeller; Bent motor shaft; Loose motor mounts; Damaged bearings.Balance propellers. Inspect motor shaft for bends. Tighten motor mounting screws. Replace worn bearings.
Reduced thrust or efficiencyDamaged propeller; Weak battery; Motor degradation.Replace damaged propellers. Use a healthy, fully charged battery. Consider motor replacement if significant degradation is observed.
