Safety Warnings
- Always install the antenna before powering on the VTX. Operating without an antenna can cause permanent damage to the unit.
- To prevent overheating, ensure constant airflow and a well-ventilated environment. Consider installing a cooling fan if operating in confined conditions.
- The 5V output is exclusively for powering a camera or cooling fan. Do NOT connect the main power input or battery directly to the 5V output, as this will cause serious damage to the VTX.
Setup & Installation
Connector Definitions
- DC 7-36V: Connects to the main battery power (2-8S LiPo).
- GND: Common ground wire for all connections.
- Video: Connects to the video output port of your Flight Controller (FC) or FPV Camera.
- IRC: Connects to a UART TX port on your Flight Controller for IRC Tramp protocol control (OSD parameter adjustment).
- 5V OUT: Provides regulated 5V power output for your FPV Camera or a cooling fan.
- GND: Common ground wire for all connections.

Operation
Button and Indicator Lights
The VTX features two parallel function buttons, which perform the same operations. The indicator lights provide visual feedback on the VTX status:
- Blue Light: Channel (CH) indicator.
- Green Light: Band indicator.
- Red Light: Power indicator.
Channel Selection
Follow the sequence below to change channels, bands, and power levels using the function button:

Universal Frequency Table
The VTX supports multiple frequency bands and channels. Refer to the universal frequency table below for available frequencies:

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GEPRC RAD VTX:
- Keep the VTX clean and free from dust and debris.
- Avoid exposing the VTX to extreme temperatures or moisture.
- Regularly check all connections for secure fit and signs of wear.
- Ensure adequate cooling during operation, especially at higher power outputs.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GEPRC RAD VTX, consider the following:
- No Video Signal:
- Check all wiring connections, especially Video In and Ground.
- Ensure the antenna is securely attached to the VTX.
- Verify that your FPV receiver is on the correct band and channel.
- Confirm the VTX is receiving adequate power.
- Poor Video Quality/Interference:
- Ensure the VTX and receiver antennas are compatible and properly oriented.
- Check for sources of electromagnetic interference (e.g., motors, ESCs, other electronics).
- Try a different channel or band.
- Increase the VTX output power if legally permitted and necessary for your flight environment.
- Ensure proper cooling to prevent thermal throttling.
- VTX Overheating:
- Ensure sufficient airflow around the VTX.
- Reduce output power if high power is not strictly necessary.
- Consider adding a small cooling fan if operating in enclosed spaces or high ambient temperatures.
