Object Distance Ratio (D:S = 12:1)

The device has an object distance ratio of 12:1. This means that for every 12 units of distance (D) from the object, the measurement spot diameter (S) is 1 unit. As the distance to the measured object increases, the measurement area will also increase proportionally. Ensure you are at an appropriate distance for the desired measurement area.

Measurement Tips for Liquids (Water/Oil)

When measuring the temperature of boiling liquids, do not let the smoke and water vapor come into direct contact with the temperature sensing area. The recommended measurement angle is between 45° and 60° to avoid inaccurate readings caused by steam.

9. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the screen to ensure accurate readings and proper device function.

10. Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Device Not Turning On: Check if batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace with new AAA batteries if necessary.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the measurement angle for liquids is correct (45°-60°). Verify the object distance ratio is appropriate for your target. Clean the sensor if it appears dirty.
  • Low Temperature Alarm: If the device measures a very low temperature and issues an alarm, this indicates the measured temperature is below a certain threshold. This is a feature, not a malfunction.

11. User Tips

  • Emissivity: The ANENG TH201 has a fixed emissivity of 0.95. This value is suitable for most organic materials, painted surfaces, and many non-metals. For highly reflective surfaces, readings might be less accurate.
  • Quick Measurements: The 0.5-second response time allows for rapid temperature checks, making it efficient for scanning multiple points or monitoring changing temperatures.
