Operating Instructions
Finding Your Items
- Play Sound: If your item is nearby, open the Find My app, select your Smart Tag, and tap 'Play Sound'. The built-in 75dB buzzer will help you locate it quickly.
- View Location: For items further away, the Find My app will display its last known location on a map, utilizing the global Find My network.
Lost Mode
If your item is lost, you can enable 'Lost Mode' in the Find My app. This will automatically notify you when your Smart Tag is detected by another device in the Find My network. You can also leave a contact message for anyone who finds your item.
Left-Behind Remind
The Smart Tag can notify you on your phone if you leave an item behind and exceed its Bluetooth range. This feature helps prevent items from being forgotten.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The Smart Tag uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery, which typically lasts over a year. To replace the battery:
- Gently twist the back cover of the Smart Tag counter-clockwise to open it.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Align the back cover and twist clockwise to secure it.
Cleaning and Care
- Wipe the Smart Tag with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- The Smart Tag is designed to be water-resistant when used with its protective case. Avoid direct exposure to water without the case.
Troubleshooting
- Device not connecting: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are active. Make sure the Smart Tag's battery is not depleted and the blocking tab has been removed. Try restarting your phone and the Find My app.
- Cannot find item: Verify that the Smart Tag is within Bluetooth range (up to 250ft/75m) or that there are other Apple devices nearby to relay its location via the Find My network.
- Removing a bound item: If you need to bind the Smart Tag to a different phone or for return/refund purposes, you must first remove it from your Apple ID in the Find My app. Navigate to the item's details and select 'Remove Item'.

- Battery Life: While the battery lasts over a year, consider carrying a spare CR2032 battery, especially if you rely heavily on the Smart Tag for critical items.
- Sound for Quick Finds: The 75dB buzzer is quite effective for finding items hidden under cushions or in cluttered spaces. Use it first before resorting to map tracking for nearby items.
