1. Product Overview

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation and Compatibility

This electric screwdriver is designed to be powered by an 18V lithium-ion battery (not included). Ensure you use compatible batteries for optimal performance and safety.

  • Compatible Batteries (18V B-series lithium battery): BL1830, BL1850, BL1840, BL1840B, BL1850B (197285-8), BL1840B (197270-1), BL1830B (197602-2), BL1430B (197618-7), BL1820B (197487-6), BL1440 (196391-6), BL1415 (194560-3), BL1815N (196781-3).
  • Recommended Battery Capacity: 2.0AH - 5.0AH.
  • NOT Compatible Batteries: DC18WA, G Series batteries (e.g., BL1813G (196663-9), BL1413G (196882-7), BL1415G, BL1430G, BL1815G), and 18V Ni-CD batteries (e.g., 1822 (194465-7)).

To install the battery, align the battery pack with the receptacle on the tool's base and slide it in until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release button on the battery and slide it out.

2.2 Attaching and Removing Tool Bits

The screwdriver features a 1/4" square drive chuck for quick and easy bit changes.

  1. To insert a bit, pull back on the collet, insert the bit fully, and then release the collet. Ensure the bit is securely seated.
  2. To remove a bit, pull back on the collet and the bit will release.

  • Switch (Trigger): Controls the power and speed of the tool. The speed is infinitely adjustable based on the pressure applied to the trigger.
  • Forward & Reverse Switching: A switch located above the trigger allows you to select forward or reverse rotation.
  • Gear Shift Button: Used to cycle through the 5 forward gears.
  • Mode Switch Button: Allows selection between different operating modes.
  • Battery Level Indicator: Displays the remaining battery charge.
  • Mode Indicator: Shows the currently selected mode (1-5, A, B).

  • High Speed Mode (B): Indicated by 'B' on the mode indicator. Provides maximum power and speed for demanding tasks.

Note: When in Battery Saving Mode (A) or High Speed Mode (B), you cannot switch working gears in inversion (reverse) mode. For normal reverse operation, ensure neither A nor B lamps are lit.

3.3 Automatic Transmission and Reverse Auto-Stop Function

The tool features an automatic transmission where the button pressing force directly correlates to the machine speed (Low, Medium, High Speed).

The Reverse Auto-Stop Function is designed to prevent over-loosening or dropping fasteners. When engaged, the tool automatically stops when turning to the edge of the bolt, preventing the nut from falling off.
