2. Installation
Follow these steps to correctly install the WiFi Plug onto your hybrid inverter.
2.1 General Installation Steps
- Align the serial port of the Wi-Fi Plug with the corresponding port on the inverter and plug it in tightly.
- Fasten the Wi-Fi Plug securely to the inverter using the provided screw.
- After installation, confirm the status of the LED lights. When all 4 LED lights remain on, it indicates normal working status.
2.2 Installation Methods by Datalogger Model
Refer to the table below to identify the correct interface code for your datalogger model, then follow the specific installation method.

Method 1 (for Interface Code 1 - Standard Serial Port)
- Connect the 4PIN power cable of the Wi-Fi Plug to the inverter.
- Fasten the Wi-Fi Plug to the inverter with the screw.
Method 2 (for Interface Code 1 - Standard Serial Port)
- Connect the 2 PIN green interface of the Wi-Fi Plug to the RS-485 terminal of the inverter.
- Connect the 5PIN power cable of the Wi-Fi Plug to the inverter.
- Fasten the Wi-Fi Plug to the inverter with the screw.
For Interface Code 2 (Round Connector)
- Align the 4-hole aviation plug of the Wi-Fi Plug with the inverter and plug it in.
- Tighten the nut of the Wi-Fi Plug to the inverter.
3. Operating Instructions
After physical installation, connect the WiFi Plug to your wireless network and the SmartESS application.

3.1 Download the SmartESS App
Scan the appropriate QR code from Figure 3 above to download the SmartESS application for iOS or Android.
3.2 Connect Wi-Fi Datalogger to App
- On your phone, go to WLAN settings and select the Wi-Fi network corresponding to your Wi-Fi Plug. The network name will typically include the Plug's PN (Product Number). The initial password is 12345678.
- Open the SmartESS application.
- Tap the Wi-Fi Config button within the app to proceed with the configuration.
- Follow the on-screen prompts in the app to complete the connection to your home or local wireless router.
