6. Setup
6.1. Charging the Battery
- Ensure the battery is securely inserted into the charger.
- Plug the charger into a suitable power outlet.
- The charging indicator lights on the battery or charger will show the charging status. Refer to the battery specifications table for approximate charging times.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the power outlet and remove the battery.
6.2. Installing/Removing the Battery
- Installation: Align the battery with the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
- Removal: Press the battery release button (usually red) and slide the battery out of the handle.
6.3. Attaching Accessories (Drill Bits, etc.)
- Ensure the drill is off and the forward/reverse switch is in the neutral (locked) position.
- Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
- Insert the desired drill bit or accessory into the chuck, ensuring it is centered.
- Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the accessory. Hand-tighten only.
6.4. Attaching the Side Handle
For improved control and stability, especially during impact drilling or high-torque applications, attach the side handle:
- Slide the side handle onto the front of the drill body.
- Rotate the handle to tighten it securely in your preferred position.
7. Operating Instructions
7.1. Power On/Off and Speed Control
- To turn on the drill, press the trigger switch.
- To turn off, release the trigger switch.
- The drill features a stepless speed change switch: the more you press the trigger, the faster the drill rotates.
7.2. Forward/Reverse Operation
Use the forward/reverse switch located above the trigger to select the rotation direction:
- Push the switch to the left for forward rotation (drilling/tightening screws).
- Push the switch to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws/backing out bits).
- For safety, place the switch in the center position to lock the trigger when not in use or when changing accessories.
7.3. Two-Speed Adjustment
The drill has a two-speed gearbox for different applications:
- Low Speed (Gear 1): For high-torque applications like driving large screws or drilling large holes in tough materials.
- High Speed (Gear 2): For fast drilling in softer materials or smaller holes.
- Adjust the gear switch on top of the drill to select the desired speed. Ensure the drill is stopped before changing gears.
7.4. 23-Speed Torque Adjustment
The torque adjustment ring allows you to set the clutch to prevent over-tightening screws or damaging materials. The higher the number, the greater the torque.
- 1-3: Start screw (low torque for delicate work).
- 5-7: Wood drilling.
- 9-11: Tile drilling.
- 13-15: Red diamond wall drilling.
- 16-20: Metal drilling.
7.5. Drilling Modes (Three-Function Switch)
Select the appropriate mode using the switch near the chuck:
- Screwdriver Mode (Start Screw): For driving screws. Use with torque adjustment.
- Flat Drill Mode: For general drilling in wood, metal, plastic, etc.
- Impact Drill Mode: For drilling into masonry, concrete, brick, and other hard materials.
7.6. LED Work Light
The integrated LED light automatically illuminates when the trigger is pressed, providing visibility in dimly lit work areas.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the ventilation openings of the tool to prevent overheating. Use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Chuck Maintenance: Keep the chuck jaws clean and free of debris to ensure proper gripping of accessories.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods. Charge them periodically if not in use.
- Storage: When not in use, store the drill and its accessories in the provided BMC box or a safe, dry place out of reach of children.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drill does not start | Battery not charged or improperly installed; Forward/reverse switch in neutral (locked) position. | Charge battery and ensure it's correctly installed; Move forward/reverse switch to forward or reverse. |
| Loss of power during operation | Battery charge is low. | Recharge the battery. |
| Drill bit slips in chuck | Chuck not tightened sufficiently; Chuck jaws are dirty. | Ensure chuck is hand-tightened firmly; Clean chuck jaws. |
| Overheating | Blocked ventilation slots; Prolonged heavy use. | Clean ventilation slots; Allow tool to cool down. |
10. User Tips
- For optimal performance and battery life, always use the appropriate torque setting for the material and task.
- When drilling into hard materials like concrete or metal, apply steady, even pressure and allow the drill to do the work. Avoid excessive force.
