4. Setup
4.1 Powering the Console
- Connect the provided DC to USB cable to the console and a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
- For backup power, insert 3 x AA Alkaline or Lithium batteries into the battery compartment on the back of the console. Ensure correct polarity.
4.2 Wi-Fi Configuration
To enable data upload and remote access, configure the Wi-Fi connection:
- Download the Ecowitt App on your smartphone or tablet.
- Follow the in-app instructions for Wi-Fi setup.
- Alternatively, you can configure Wi-Fi via a web page by connecting to the console's temporary Wi-Fi network and navigating to
192.168.4.1in your browser. Refer to the detailed instructions in the included manual for this method.
4.3 Sensor Pairing
The WS3900 automatically attempts to connect to compatible Ecowitt sensors within range. Ensure your sensors are powered on and functioning correctly. The console supports various sensors for outdoor temperature/humidity, wind, rain, UV, solar radiation, and more. Refer to the compatibility tables in Section 7 for supported sensor models.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Display Overview
The 7.5-inch LCD color display provides a comprehensive overview of current weather conditions. It shows outdoor and indoor temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall data (rate/daily/weekly/monthly/yearly/total), barometric pressure, weather forecast, UV index, and solar radiation. The display also includes date, time, moon phase, and DST indicators.

5.2 Button Functions
The console features 8 physical buttons located on the top for various operations:
- SET (1): Press to adjust backlight when powered by DC. Hold to enter setting mode.
- TEMP (2): Press to switch display information. Hold to activate Wi-Fi hotspot configuration.
- RAIN 1 (3): Press to switch rain rate/event. Hold to register weather data.
- RAIN 2 (4): Press to switch rain daily/weekly/monthly/yearly/total. Hold to enter setting mode.
- WIND (5): Press to switch wind direction/10min avg/gust. Hold to enter alarm setting mode.
- + (6): Press to increase value or navigate forward in setting mode.
- - (7): Press to decrease value or navigate backward in setting mode.
- LIGHT (8): Press to adjust backlight. Hold to enter setting mode.
5.3 Weather Forecast
The console provides a weather forecast based on barometric pressure changes. The forecast icons include:

5.4 Data Upload
Once Wi-Fi is configured, the WS3900 can upload data to various online weather platforms:

- wow.metoffice.gov.uk
- Customized servers
You can access and download your historical data from ecowitt.net.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the console with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: If using batteries for backup, replace them when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure to use 3 x AA Alkaline or Lithium batteries.
- Factory Reset: To perform a factory reset, hold down the 'SET' and 'LIGHT' buttons simultaneously. This will clear all settings and data.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Power: Ensure the DC power cable is securely connected or that fresh AA batteries are installed with correct polarity.
- No Sensor Data: Check if outdoor sensors are powered on and within the RF wireless range (over 100 meters in open areas). Ensure the console's RF frequency matches your region (915/868/433MHz).
- Wi-Fi Connection Issues: Verify your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz (802.11 b/g/n). Re-attempt Wi-Fi configuration via the Ecowitt App or web interface (192.168.4.1). Ensure the console is within WLAN range (over 30 meters in open areas).
- Compatibility with other sensors (e.g., Ecowitt WH2650a, Gevanti FT0350): The WS3900 is designed to work with specific Ecowitt sensors and IoT devices. Please refer to the compatibility tables below to confirm if your sensor model is supported. If your sensor is not listed, it may not be compatible.
