6.2. Auto-Heater Function
The WS90 sensor includes an auto-heater function to prevent freezing in cold conditions. The heating plate automatically turns on when the temperature drops below 5°C (41°F) and turns off when it rises above 10°C (50°F). Please note that the DC 12V adapter and heating power cord are sold separately and are required for this function.
6.3. Battery Replacement
- Console: If using AA batteries for backup, replace them when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
- WS90 Sensor: While primarily solar-powered, the backup AA batteries should be checked periodically and replaced if necessary, especially in prolonged periods of low sunlight.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display on Console: Ensure the DC power adapter is securely connected or that fresh AA batteries are installed.
- No Outdoor Sensor Data: Check the WS90 sensor's battery compartment for proper battery installation (if using backup batteries) and ensure it's receiving adequate sunlight. Verify the console and sensor are within the 100m RF communication range and free from major obstructions.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the WS90 sensor is mounted correctly, especially the NORTH alignment for wind direction. Clear any debris from the rainfall sensor. For temperature/humidity, ensure the sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. Check your router's signal strength near the console. Re-enter Wi-Fi credentials if necessary via the console's setup menu.
- Data Not Uploading to Ecowitt.net: Verify the console has a stable internet connection. Check your Ecowitt.net account settings and ensure the device is registered and online.
