Setup and Installation

Proper wiring is crucial for the correct operation of your access control system. Please refer to the diagrams below for common power supply and Wiegand access controller connections.

Common Power Supply Wiring

Product wiring diagram for common power supply
Wiring diagram showing connections for +12V (red), GND (black), NO (green), COM (white), NC (yellow), OPEN (blue), BEL+ (purple), BEL- (gray), D0 (pink), D1 (brown) to a 12V power supply, electric plug, lock magnetic lock, and optional doorbell.

Wiring Key:

  • +12V (Red): Connects to the positive terminal of the 12V power supply.
  • GND (Black): Connects to the negative terminal of the 12V power supply.
  • NO (Green): Normally Open contact for the lock.
  • COM (White): Common contact for the lock.
  • NC (Yellow): Normally Closed contact for the lock.
  • OPEN (Blue): Connects to the 'Go out button' (exit button).
  • BEL+ (Purple): Positive terminal for the optional doorbell.
  • BEL- (Gray): Negative terminal for the optional doorbell.
  • D0 (Pink): Data 0 for Wiegand communication.
  • D1 (Brown): Data 1 for Wiegand communication.

Important: Ensure the correct lock type (Normally Open or Normally Closed) is connected to the corresponding terminals (NO or NC) to prevent the lock from operating in reverse (e.g., open when it should be closed).

Wiegand Access Controller Wiring

When using the TF886 model with Wiegand output, please note that only card and password functions are supported. Fingerprint output is not supported via Wiegand. If fingerprint output is required for your Wiegand controller, please contact customer service for alternative solutions.

Video Demonstration

This video demonstrates key operations of the TF886 access control system, including how to add fingerprints, use the default password for door opening, add management cards, and add user cards. It shows the keypad interaction and the lock response.

Adding Fingerprints

To add a fingerprint, enter the administrator password (default is 123456) followed by *5555#. Then, enter the fingerprint number (e.g., 001) and place the finger on the sensor multiple times until successfully registered.

Using Default Password

The default password for door opening is 666666. Enter this password on the keypad to unlock the door.

Adding Management Card

To add a management card, enter the administrator password (123456) followed by *666#. Swipe the management card to register it.

Adding User Card

To add a user card, first swipe the registered management card (the traffic light will indicate readiness). Then, swipe the user card you wish to add. Finally, swipe the management card again to confirm and successfully add the user card.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the keypad surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the tempered glass or finish.
  • Environmental Conditions: While IP67 waterproof, extreme temperatures or prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals should be avoided to ensure longevity.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Regular Testing: Periodically test all unlocking methods (fingerprint, card, password) to ensure they are functioning correctly.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Keypad works in reverse (lock is blocked when code is entered, open when on standby).
Solution: This typically indicates incorrect wiring to the electric lock. Ensure that the NC (Normally Closed) cable is connected to the lock if it's a fail-secure lock, and the NO (Normally Open) cable is connected if it's a fail-safe lock. Do not connect the NO wire if the lock requires NC for secure operation, or vice-versa. Consult your lock's manual for its specific requirements.
Problem: Fingerprint unlocking does not work with Wiegand controller.
Solution: For models with Wiegand output (like TF886), only card and password functions are supported via Wiegand. Fingerprint data is not transmitted through Wiegand in these specific models. If fingerprint output is a requirement for your Wiegand controller, please contact Asia-Teco customer service for alternative products or solutions.

User Tips

  • Door Compatibility: The access control system is generally compatible with various door types, including wooden doors, when paired with an appropriate electric lock.
  • Standalone Operation: This is a standalone unit, meaning it does not require a separate control panel for basic operation.
  • Dimensions: For installation planning, note the dimensions are 86mm x 86mm x 13mm.
