Water Resistance

The SKMEI 1845 watch is rated for 5 ATM (50 meters) water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use, including swimming, washing hands, and exposure to rain. However, it is NOT suitable for hot water activities like bathing or showering, as water vapor can penetrate the watch. IMPORTANT: Do not press any buttons while the watch is submerged in water.

Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the watch to chemical substances such as solvents, detergents, perfumes, or cosmetics. These can damage the watch's finish and seals.
  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, as this can affect battery life and internal components.
  • Impact: While the watch is shock-resistant, avoid unnecessary impacts or drops to prevent damage.
  • Battery Replacement: The watch uses a CR2025 battery. When the display dims or functions become erratic, it may be time for a battery replacement. It is recommended to have this done by a professional to ensure water resistance is maintained.

Troubleshooting

  • Display is blank or dim: The battery may be low or depleted. Replace the battery.
  • Time is incorrect: Re-set the time following the "Setting Time and Date" instructions. Ensure you are in the correct 12-hour or 24-hour format.
  • Buttons are unresponsive: Ensure the watch is not wet when pressing buttons. If the issue persists, the watch may require servicing.
  • Condensation inside the watch: This usually indicates a breach in the water resistance. Avoid further water exposure and have the watch inspected by a professional immediately.

User Tips

  • Familiarize yourself with the button layout and functions by practicing in a dry environment before relying on the watch during activities.
  • Regularly check the time and date settings, especially after battery changes or if the watch has been stored for a long period.
  • Utilize the dual time function when traveling across different time zones to easily keep track of home time.
