5.1 Front Camera Installation
The dash cam is designed for easy installation with a 3M adhesive, ensuring it does not obstruct your line of sight.
- Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dash cam.
- Attach the recorder to the windshield using the provided 3M adhesive sticker. Ensure it is positioned to capture the desired view without blocking your driving visibility.
- Connect the power cable to the dash cam and route it neatly to your car's cigarette lighter socket.

5.2 Parking Monitoring Hardwire Kit Installation (Optional)
For 24-hour parking monitoring, a special buck cable (hardwire kit) is required. This ensures continuous power and battery protection.
- Open your car's fuse box.
- Identify a suitable fuse slot that is either 'ACC' (Accessory, powers on with ignition) or 'Bat+' (Battery, always powered).
- Install the fuse holder from the hardwire kit into the selected fuse slot.
- Connect the black wire of the hardwire kit to a metal ground point (negative electrode) in your car.
- Test the camera's functionality with the hardwire kit connected.
- Complete the wiring of the hardwire kit, ensuring all connections are secure and cables are neatly tucked away.

5.3 Rear Camera Installation (Optional)
If your model includes a rear camera, you have two primary installation methods:
- Inside the Windshield: Install the rear camera above the inside of the rear windshield.
- Above the License Plate: Install the rear camera above the license plate at the rear of the vehicle for an external view.

5.4 Micro SD Card Installation and Preparation
Proper Micro SD card usage is crucial for reliable recording.
- Only use Class 10 or higher Micro SD cards with a memory capacity of 16GB to 128GB.
- Do not remove or insert the memory card when the device is turned on to avoid damaging the card or the dash cam.
- Always format the Micro SD card before its first use.
- It is recommended to format the memory card regularly (at least once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
- If using a card with a capacity of 64GB or above, format it using the dash cam first.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 APP Download and Connection
The HP F965 Dash Cam can be connected to your smartphone via a dedicated app for real-time viewing, settings adjustment, and video management.
- Download the 'Go Carcam' app. You can scan the QR codes below or search for 'Go Carcam' in the Apple App Store (for iOS) or Android App Store.
- On your phone, go to settings and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi hotspot. The Wi-Fi name typically starts with
hp_f****. The initial password is12345678or1234567890. - Open the 'Go Carcam' app. For first-time use, tap "Access Camera" and then navigate to "Camera Settings" to tap "Format" to format your Micro SD card. If you are a Moto Cam user, ensure to tap "Tilt Detection" for calibration.

When checking video files via the APP, the device will automatically pause recording. Exiting the APP normally will restart recording.
6.2 Recording Modes and Features
- Loop Recording: The dash cam automatically initiates loop recording. When the memory card is full, the earliest recorded video is automatically deleted to make space for new recordings, ensuring continuous coverage.
- 24-Hour Parking Monitoring: When the car is turned off, the dash cam enters parking monitoring mode. If an abnormal collision is detected, it automatically begins recording. This feature requires the optional hardwire kit to ensure continuous power without draining the car battery.
- Emergency Lockout (G-Sensor): In the event of a collision, the dash cam's G-sensor automatically locks the video and photos of the incident, preventing them from being overwritten. These files can be viewed and downloaded via the app.
- Time-Lapse Video: This recording method captures video frame-by-frame, extending recording time significantly. It allows for 24 hours of continuous recording, providing comprehensive surveillance of your vehicle.
- HDR HD Night Vision: Upgraded 2021 HDR technology restores dark details in night driving environments, providing clearer and more delicate images. The WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) light system automatically fills light in low-light conditions and suppresses overexposure in bright areas.
7. Maintenance
- Memory Card Formatting: Regularly format your Micro SD card (recommended once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent recording issues.
- Memory Card Lifespan: Memory cards have a service life. Prolonged use may lead to decreased writing speed or storage failure. If you experience such issues, it is recommended to replace the memory card.
- Cleaning: If video appears blurred, check for dust or smudges on the camera lens and the windshield area where the dash cam is mounted. Gently wipe the lens and windshield with a soft, clean cloth.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Common Fault Handling
- Car does not start after starting: Check if the connecting cable is powered on normally. Ensure the power source (cigarette lighter or hardwire kit) is functioning.
- Unable to record video properly after startup:
- Verify that a TF card is inserted and properly formatted.
- Check if the TF card is damaged. If so, replace it.
- If issues persist, reinsert the TF card and format it once more.
- Note: Always use a Class 10 or higher high-speed card. Incompatible memory cards can cause crashes, repeated restarts, black screens, or other malfunctions.
- Video blurred: Check for any dust on the lens and wipe both the lens and the windshield thoroughly.
- APP screen not smooth or cannot be previewed: Try to minimize the number of background applications running on your phone. Bring your phone closer to the dash cam to improve Wi-Fi signal strength. Close and restart the 'Go Carcam' app.
