7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power strip from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord and the unit for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires, cracks, or loose connections. If damage is found, discontinue use and replace the unit.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the power strip in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power to Devices:
- Ensure the power strip's plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet.
- Check if the master power switch is ON.
- Verify that the individual switch for the specific outlets is ON.
- Check if the circuit breaker (overload protection switch) has tripped. If so, unplug some devices and press the reset button.
- Test the wall outlet with another device to ensure it is functioning.
- USB Devices Not Charging:
- Ensure the power strip is powered on.
- Check the USB cable for damage and ensure it is properly connected to both the power strip and the device.
- Try a different USB port or cable.
- Ensure your device is compatible with 5V/2.4A charging.
- "Protected" Indicator Light is Off: This indicates that the surge protection component has absorbed a significant surge and is no longer providing protection. The power strip will still function as an extension cord, but it is recommended to replace the unit to maintain surge protection for your devices.
9. User Tips
- Utilize the individual switches to turn off devices that are not in use, reducing phantom power consumption and saving energy.
- The widely spaced outlets are ideal for accommodating large power bricks without obstructing other outlets. Plan your device placement to make the most of this feature.
- The flat plug and 6ft cord make this power strip versatile for use behind furniture or in areas where standard plugs would protrude too much.
- Consider wall-mounting the power strip in workshops, garages, or under desks to keep cords organized and surfaces clear.
