5. Setup & Installation
5.1 SIM Card Requirements
Please obtain a suitable Micro SIM card from your local provider. The SIM card must meet the following criteria:
- Must be compatible with 4G LTE or 2G GSM networks.
- SMS, call, and internet data traffic must be enabled.
- Caller ID display feature must be enabled.
- PIN code must be removed.
- It must be a Micro size SIM card.
- Inquire with your SIM card provider for the exact correct APN (Access Point Name) information.
5.2 SIM Card Installation
Follow these steps to install the SIM card:
- Carefully open the device casing to access the SIM card slot.
- Insert the Micro SIM card into the designated slot. Ensure it is correctly oriented.
- Close the device casing securely.

5.3 Wiring
Connect the tracker to your vehicle's power supply and other components as per the wiring diagram below. It is crucial to connect the tracker with an external power supply of no less than 12V for proper operation after the SIM card is correctly installed.

5.4 Configure APN
Obtain the exact APN name from your local SIM card provider. Place the tracker in an area with good signal reception and configure the APN using the following SMS commands:
| SMS Command Format | Reply | Example | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| APN,ApnName,User,Password# | SET APN OK | APN,orange, orange, orange# | If the SIM card has APN user and APN password, use this command. |
| APN,ApnName# | SET APN OK | APN,internet# | If the SIM card operator doesn't have APN user and APN password, use this command. |
Note: The APN information is critical. It must 100% match your SIM card's settings. Even if the tracker replies "SET APN ok" with a wrong APN, it will not be able to get online.
5.5 Installation Recommendation
For optimal performance, consider the following installation guidelines:
- The device should face upwards towards the sky.
- Avoid placing the device behind metal thermal barriers or heating layers of the windshield, as this can affect the signal.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your MV810G tracker, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions:
| Type | Solution |
|---|---|
| Unable to connect to tracking platform | Check the APN and settings. Ensure the data service of the SIM card is enabled. Check the balance of the SIM card. |
| Tracker shows offline | Check if external power is still connected. Check if the vehicle entered a network blind area. Check the balance of the SIM card. |
| Unable to locate | Make sure the top side is facing upward without metallic shielding. Ensure it's not in an area with no satellite coverage. |
| Location drift | In areas with poor GNSS signal (e.g., tall buildings, basements), drifting may occur. Check for vibrations around the device that might trigger the accelerator. |
| No command reply | Ensure the SMS command format is correct. The vehicle might be in a network blind area. Make sure the SIM card is well inserted and has SMS service. |
8. User Tips
- SIM Card Data Plan: The "Lifetime APP" option refers to access to the tracking platform, not a lifetime data plan. You will still need to purchase a separate data plan for your SIM card to ensure the tracker can communicate.
- Network Compatibility: Before purchasing a SIM card, confirm it is compatible with 4G LTE or 2G GSM networks in your region and that it supports SMS, calls, and internet data.
- Optimal Placement: For the best GPS signal, install the device with its top side facing upward and avoid any metallic objects that could shield the signal.
- Initial Power Connection: Always ensure the tracker is connected to an external power source (at least 12V) after SIM card installation and before initial operation.
