4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Device

The device comes with a rotatable mounting bracket for easy installation and removal on your motorcycle handlebars.

  1. Attach the bracket securely to your motorcycle handlebars.
  2. Mount the EKIY display onto the bracket. The detachable design allows for easy removal when not in use.

4.2 Wiring Instructions

Proper wiring is crucial for the device's functionality. Ensure your motorcycle's battery is disconnected before proceeding with wiring.

  1. Connect the Red Power Wire to the Motorcycle Battery positive terminal.
  2. Connect the Black Ground Wire to the Motorcycle Battery negative terminal.
  3. The B+ lines are designed to be spliced with the original ACC lines of your motorcycle for ignition-controlled power.

Note: The device requires a 12V voltage to start. Using a power bank via the Type-C port for primary power may cause the device to restart due to insufficient voltage.

4.3 Initial Power On and Language Setup

Once wired and mounted, turn on your motorcycle's ignition. The device should power on automatically.

  1. On the main interface, navigate to 'Setup' or 'Settings'.
  2. Locate the 'Language' option.
  3. Select your preferred language from the available options: English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Hebrew, Vietnamese, Malaysian.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Wireless CarPlay Connection (for iOS devices)

  1. On the EKIY display, click the 'CarPlay' icon to enter the connection page.
  2. Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the EKIY display.
  3. On your iPhone, go to 'Settings' > 'Bluetooth'.
  4. Search for the Bluetooth device named 'CAR-BT_D21A' (or similar).
  5. Pair your iPhone with the device. You may be prompted to enter a PIN (usually 0000) and allow contact/favorites sync.
  6. After successful pairing, CarPlay will launch automatically. The device will connect via Wi-Fi, but Bluetooth must remain active on your phone.

5.2 Wireless Android Auto Connection (for Android devices)

  1. On the EKIY display, click the 'Android Auto' icon to enter the connection page.
  2. Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the EKIY display.
  3. On your Android phone, go to 'Settings' > 'Bluetooth'.
  4. Search for the Bluetooth device named 'OKBox-BT_64B1' (or similar).
  5. Pair your Android phone with the device. You may be prompted to enter a PIN (usually 0000) and allow contact/favorites sync.
  6. After successful pairing, Android Auto will launch automatically. The device will connect via Wi-Fi, but Bluetooth must remain active on your phone.

5.3 Screen Mirroring (AirPlay / Autolink)

The device supports screen mirroring from both iOS and Android phones.

  • Wireless AirPlay: For iPhone users to mirror their screen.
  • Wireless Autolink: For Android phone users to mirror their screen.

5.4 Bluetooth Headset Connection

The EKIY display features dual Bluetooth, allowing simultaneous connection to your phone for CarPlay/Android Auto and to a Bluetooth headset for audio and calls.

  1. On the EKIY display, click the 'BT Ear' icon to enter the connection page.
  2. Click the search icon to scan for available Bluetooth devices.
  3. Select your Bluetooth headset from the list and click 'Pair'.
  4. Wait for the connection to be established. Once successful, audio from the display will be routed to your headset.

5.5 Micro SD Card Usage

The device supports Micro SD cards up to 64GB. Insert the Micro SD card into the designated TF Card slot on the side of the device. This can be used for media playback or, in DVR models (MTC-10-DVR, MTC-13-DVR), for recording footage.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

The EKIY display is IP67 waterproof, meaning it is protected against dust and temporary immersion in water. To clean the screen, gently wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the screen or casing.

6.2 Storage

Due to its detachable design, the device can be easily removed from its bracket when not in use or when parking your motorcycle, providing an anti-theft measure.

6.3 Firmware Updates

Firmware updates may be released to improve UI, add features, or fix bugs. Check the manufacturer's official website for the latest firmware. Follow the provided instructions carefully when performing an update.

7. Troubleshooting

Wireless CarPlay connection failsOn your iPhone, go to 'Settings' > 'General' > 'CarPlay'. Delete all previously paired devices and attempt to connect again. Ensure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active on your phone.
Wireless Android Auto connection failsOn your Android phone, go to 'Settings' > 'Apps' > 'Google Play Services' > 'Storage and Cache'. Clear the cache and all data. Attempt to connect again. Ensure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active on your phone.
Device restarts frequently or doesn't power onEnsure the device is receiving a stable 12V power supply from the motorcycle battery. Avoid using a power bank via the Type-C port for primary power, as it may not provide sufficient voltage. Check wiring connections for looseness.
Micro SD card not recognizedEnsure the Micro SD card is inserted correctly. Try formatting the card (if it contains no important data) or using a different brand/capacity card to check for compatibility issues. The device supports up to 64GB.
Cannot connect helmet intercomEnsure your intercom is in pairing mode. On the EKIY display, go to 'BT Ear' and search for devices. If issues persist, consult your intercom's manual for specific pairing instructions or try resetting the intercom.
Firmware update file does not openEnsure the firmware file is downloaded completely and is compatible with your specific device model. Follow the update instructions precisely. If the issue persists, contact customer support.

  • Anti-Theft Convenience: Take advantage of the detachable design to easily remove the display when you leave your motorcycle unattended.
  • Stable Power: Always ensure the device is connected to a stable 12V power source from your motorcycle's battery for reliable operation.
  • Bluetooth Headset Integration: Utilize the dual Bluetooth feature to connect your phone for navigation/music and a Bluetooth headset for clear audio and hands-free calls simultaneously.
  • Language Options: The device supports a wide range of languages, including English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Hebrew, Vietnamese, and Malaysian.
  • DVR Functionality: If you have an MTC-X-DVR model, remember to insert a Micro SD card (up to 64GB) to utilize the 1080P dual recording feature for enhanced safety and documentation.
