1. Introduction

The Orvibo MixSense S360 is an advanced human body status sensor designed for smart home environments. Utilizing 24GHz millimeter wave radar technology, it accurately detects human presence, movement, and specific activities, enabling intelligent automation of lighting and other smart devices. This sensor integrates seamlessly with the Orvibo Homemate system via Zigbee communication, offering enhanced comfort, energy efficiency, and safety features, including fall detection.

2. Product Features

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Pre-installation Requirements

  • Ceiling Height: Must be less than 3 meters for optimal performance.
  • Ceiling Space: A minimum of 5cm clearance is required above the ceiling for installation.
  • Opening Size: A circular opening with a diameter of Ø68mm is needed for embedded installation.
  • Power Supply: A reserved 220V power cord is required at the installation location.

3.2 Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Ceiling: Ensure the ceiling meets the pre-installation requirements. Cut a circular hole of Ø68mm diameter at the desired installation spot.
  2. Wiring: Connect the 220V power cord to the sensor's wiring terminals. Ensure proper polarity and secure connections.
  3. Insert Sensor: Gently push the sensor into the prepared ceiling opening. The spring clips on the sides of the sensor will secure it in place.
  4. Power On: Restore power to the circuit. The sensor should power on and begin its initialization process.
  5. Pairing with Orvibo Homemate: Follow the instructions in your Orvibo Homemate app to add the MixSense S360 sensor to your smart home system. This typically involves putting the sensor into pairing mode (refer to the Homemate app for specific steps) and searching for new Zigbee devices.

4. Operating Instructions

Once installed and paired with your Orvibo Homemate system, the MixSense S360 sensor operates autonomously, detecting human presence and activities to trigger predefined smart home scenarios.

4.1 Activity-Based Automation

  • Continuous Presence: When activities like playing with mobile phones, reading, cooking, or drinking tea are detected, the sensor ensures that associated lights or devices remain active.
  • Entry/Exit Detection: Lights and other devices can be configured to turn on automatically upon entry and turn off when the area is vacated. This is also applicable for brief passages or getting up during the night.
  • Static Presence (Deep Sleep/Rest): The sensor can differentiate between active presence and static states like deep sleep or a noon break. In such scenarios, it can trigger intelligent dimming of lights or adjust other environmental settings for comfort.

4.2 Fall Detection

The MixSense S360 includes a critical fall detection feature. If a fall is detected (e.g., by a child or an elderly person), the sensor can immediately trigger an alert through the Orvibo Homemate system, notifying designated contacts or emergency services.

4.3 Customizing Scenarios

All automation rules and alert settings are managed through the Orvibo Homemate application. Users can create custom scenarios based on the 12 detected human body states to tailor the sensor's behavior to their specific needs and preferences.

5. Maintenance

The Orvibo MixSense S360 sensor is designed for low maintenance. To ensure optimal performance and longevity:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the sensor's visible surface with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the Orvibo Homemate app for any available firmware updates for the sensor. Keeping the firmware updated ensures access to the latest features and performance improvements.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the sensor operates within its specified working temperature and humidity ranges to prevent damage.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MixSense S360 sensor, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power/Not Responding:
    • Check the main power supply to the sensor. Ensure the circuit breaker is on.
    • Verify the wiring connections are secure and correct.
  • Sensor Not Detecting Presence:
    • Ensure the sensor's detection area is clear of obstructions.
    • Confirm the sensor is installed within the recommended ceiling height (less than 3 meters).
    • Check the sensor's settings in the Orvibo Homemate app to ensure it's enabled and configured correctly.
  • Zigbee Connection Issues:
    • Ensure your Orvibo Homemate gateway/hub is powered on and within range of the sensor.
    • Try re-pairing the sensor with your Orvibo Homemate system through the app.

  • Inaccurate Detection:
    • Review the sensor's placement to ensure it has an unobstructed view of the area it's monitoring.
