1. Introduction

The SRNE MS-W-09 Wi-Fi adapter is a wireless accessory designed to extend the data transmission capabilities of compatible hybrid solar inverters. It enables remote monitoring, control, debugging, and firmware upgrades for your inverter system via a wireless network and cloud server access.

This adapter connects to the inverter using a four-pin aviation interface (RS-485), offering an IP65 protection level for durability. It is designed for easy installation, provides strong anti-interference capabilities, and does not require an additional power supply.

Compatibility: This Wi-Fi adapter is compatible with all SRNE brand inverters, as well as TINGEN brand HSI3000U, HSI3000S, HSI5000U, and HSI5500 inverter models.

2. Safety Information

  • Ensure the inverter is powered off before connecting or disconnecting the Wi-Fi adapter.
  • Do not expose the adapter to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

5. Installation Guide

Follow these steps to install and configure your Wi-Fi adapter:

5.1. Physical Installation

  1. Align the interface of the Wi-Fi Plug07 with the inverter and plug it in tightly.
  2. Confirm the status of the LED indicator. When you see the green LED light turn on from the shell, this indicates normal working status.

5.2. Wireless Router Connection

  1. Download the SmartESS App (available for iOS and Android) and establish a Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Scan the QR code from the cover of this guideline or the adapter itself to download the app.
  3. Connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot of the Wi-Fi Plug07 on your phone WLAN. The initial password is "12345678".
  4. Open the app, tap the Wi-Fi config button to enter the configuration page.
  5. Then tap the Network Setting button.
  6. According to the prompts, type in the information to complete the network setting.
  7. After the Wi-Fi Plug07 is restarted, reconnect the Wi-Fi which is connected by step 2.1.

5.3. Create Account and Datalogger

  1. Create Account: Open the app, tap the Register button. According to the prompt, complete creating an account.
  2. Add Datalogger: Login to the account and click the list button on the bottom of the home page. Tap the "+" button on the top-right corner of the list page. Scan the datalogger PN on the Wi-Fi Plug07, or input it manually. According to the prompts, type in the information to finish adding the datalogger.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed and configured, the Wi-Fi adapter allows you to monitor and control your solar inverter remotely through the SmartESS app and the Eybond Value Clouds platform.

  • Remote Monitoring: View real-time data and historical performance of your solar inverter, including power generation, battery status, and system alerts.
  • Remote Control: Adjust inverter settings and operating modes as supported by the app and inverter model.
  • Remote Debugging: Access diagnostic information and perform troubleshooting remotely.
  • Firmware Upgrades: Update the inverter's firmware through the app for improved performance and new features.

The data upload cycle is 5 minutes by default, ensuring regular updates to your monitoring platform.

7. Maintenance

The SRNE Wi-Fi adapter is designed for low maintenance. Follow these general guidelines:

  • Keep the adapter clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure the connection to the inverter is secure and free from corrosion.
  • Regularly check the indicator lights for normal operation (green LED on).
  • Avoid physical impact or excessive force on the adapter.
  • Ensure the surrounding environment is within the specified operating temperature range (-30℃ to +85℃).

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Wi-Fi adapter, consider the following:

  • No Indicator Light: Check the connection to the inverter. Ensure the inverter is powered on.
  • Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi Hotspot: Verify the adapter is powered on. Ensure you are using the correct initial password "12345678".
  • No Data in App:
    • Check your home Wi-Fi router's internet connection.
    • Ensure the adapter is successfully connected to your home Wi-Fi network (refer to section 5.2).
    • Confirm the datalogger has been correctly added to your account in the SmartESS app (refer to section 5.3).
    • Verify that the inverter is operating correctly and sending data to the adapter.
  • Compatibility Issues: Ensure your inverter model is listed as compatible (SRNE inverters, TINGEN HSI3000U, HSI3000S, HSI5000U, HSI5500).

9. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure the Wi-Fi adapter is within reasonable range of your wireless router (up to 100M in open environments).
  • Regularly check for SmartESS app updates to benefit from new features and stability improvements.
  • The adapter is confirmed to work for monitoring with Wi-Fi and the TEWAYCELL app for integrated systems like 20kWh 10kw setups.

The SRNE MS-W-09 Wi-Fi adapter comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, as per the specifications.
