4.2 App Installation and WiFi Connection
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to your home's 2.4GHz WiFi network. (Note: The camera only supports 2.4GHz WiFi).
- Download and install the "Star Eye" application on your iOS or Android smartphone.
- Open the "Star Eye" app and tap on "Add now" or the equivalent option to add a new device.
- Select "Device scan code distribution network" as the connection method.
- The app will prompt you to enter your home WiFi password. Enter it carefully and confirm it is correct.
- A QR code will appear on your phone screen. Point the X14 Mini Camera's lens at this QR code, maintaining a distance of approximately 15 centimeters (about 6 inches).
- Hold the camera steady until the indicator light on the device changes, signifying successful code scanning.
- The device will then proceed with network distribution. Once successful, the camera will appear in your device list in the app, and you can access the live feed.

5.1 Live View and Recording
Once connected, open the "Star Eye" app to access the live video feed from your camera. You can monitor your home or office in real-time from anywhere.

The X14 Mini Camera is equipped with infrared night vision, allowing it to capture clear images and videos even in low-light or complete darkness without emitting visible light.
5.4 Local Storage (Micro SD Card)
If you choose not to use WiFi, or as a backup, you can insert a Micro SD card (up to 32GB, not included) into the camera. The camera will automatically record and save video files to the SD card. This feature allows for continuous cyclic storage.

5.5 Multi-User Sharing
The camera supports multi-user real-time sharing. The main account can add multiple sub-accounts, allowing family members or trusted individuals to view videos simultaneously.

6. User Tips
- For optimal video quality, ensure the camera is placed in a well-lit area during the day. The 1080P resolution provides significantly clearer details compared to 720P.
- Utilize the 140-degree wide-angle lens to cover a larger area, reducing the need for multiple cameras.
- Regularly check the "Star Eye" app for motion detection alerts to stay informed about any activity.
- Consider using a Micro SD card for continuous recording, especially if WiFi connectivity is intermittent or for local backup.
- Take advantage of the multi-user sharing feature to allow trusted family members to monitor the feed.

7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Device Fails to Connect to WiFi During Network Configuration
If you encounter issues connecting your X14 Mini Camera to WiFi, consider the following:
- WiFi Frequency: The camera only connects to 2.4G frequency WiFi. It does not support 5G frequency band WiFi or mixed frequency WiFi. Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4G signal and your phone is connected to it. The camera also does not support connecting to access networks set by some routers.
- Connection Range: Do not go beyond the device's connection range. Try moving the camera closer to your router and attempt to configure the network again.
- WiFi Name (SSID): The WiFi name should not exceed a certain length, and it cannot be set as hidden. Ensure your WiFi SSID is visible and within standard length limits.
- Router Restrictions: Check your router settings to see if it restricts device access. Some routers have MAC address filtering or other security features that might block new devices.
- WiFi Password: Double-check that the WiFi password entered during connection is absolutely correct. Incorrect passwords are a common cause of connection failure.
- Configuration Attempts: If the device cannot receive configuration information or fails to configure after multiple attempts, it is recommended to use the AP hotspot mode configuration as an alternative. Refer to the app's instructions for AP hotspot setup.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could scratch the lens or damage the device.
- Placement: Place the camera in a stable location to prevent accidental falls. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or high humidity.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the "Star Eye" app for any available firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated ensures optimal performance and security.
- Data Management: If using a Micro SD card, regularly back up important recordings and format the card periodically to maintain performance.
- Power Supply: Always use a stable 5V2A power supply to ensure consistent operation.
