6.4. Adjusting Speed Ratio (for Tachometer)

The speed ratio for the tachometer is adjustable from 1.0 to 360.0. This setting is crucial for accurate RPM readings and must be configured to match your engine's specifications. Typically, this adjustment is made via a button or a series of button presses on the back of the unit. Consult the specific instructions that came with your unit or contact support for detailed steps on how to enter the calibration mode and set the speed ratio.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the display and housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.
  • Environmental Protection: Although the gauge is IP67 rated, prolonged exposure to extreme conditions (e.g., direct high-pressure water jets) should be avoided.

8. Troubleshooting

The gauge is equipped with an alarm system to alert you to potential issues. Here are common alarm messages and their meanings:

Alarm MessagePossible CauseSolution
Oil pressure sensor off, low pressureFaulty oil pressure sensor or low engine oil pressure.Check oil level and oil pressure sensor connection/function.
Temperature sensor off, high temperatureFaulty temperature sensor or engine overheating.Check coolant level, engine temperature, and temperature sensor connection/function.

Low fuel levelFuel tank is low or fuel level sensor is faulty.Refuel or check fuel level sensor connection/function.
No GPS signalGPS antenna not connected, obstructed, or faulty.Ensure GPS antenna is connected and has a clear view of the sky.

9. User Tips

  • RPM Configuration: For accurate tachometer readings, it is essential to correctly configure the speed ratio (pulse per revolution) to match your engine. This setting is usually accessed through a menu system via the buttons on the back of the gauge. If you are unsure, consult your engine's manual for the correct pulse per revolution value.
  • Fuel Level Sensor Compatibility: The gauge supports both 0-190 ohm and 240-30 ohm fuel level sensors. Ensure you select the correct type during setup for accurate fuel readings.
  • GPS Signal: For the most reliable speed and distance readings, ensure your GPS antenna is mounted in an unobstructed location, away from metal interference.
