5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Drive Recognition
Once connected and powered on, your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux) should automatically detect the ORICO NS800 and any installed drives. New drives may need to be initialized and formatted before use. Refer to your operating system's documentation for instructions on disk management.

5.2 Data Transfer
The enclosure utilizes a USB 3.1 Type-C interface, providing data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. You can drag and drop files, use backup software, or access your data directly from the recognized drives.
6. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ORICO NS800:
- Cleaning: Keep the enclosure clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for external cleaning. Avoid liquid cleaners.
- Ventilation: Ensure the cooling fans and honeycomb dissipation holes are not obstructed to allow for proper airflow. The dual 92mm cooling fans are designed for efficient heat dissipation and low-noise operation.
- Environment: Operate the device in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture.
- Handling: The aluminum case provides durability and aids in heat dissipation. Handle the unit with care to prevent physical damage.

7. Troubleshooting
- Device Not Detected:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the enclosure is powered on.
- Verify the USB data cable is firmly connected to both the enclosure and your computer.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
- Check if the drives are properly seated in their bays.
- Drives Not Appearing in OS:
- For new drives, they may need to be initialized and formatted through your operating system's Disk Management utility (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).
- Ensure the drives themselves are functional by testing them in another device if possible.
- Slow Transfer Speeds:
- Ensure you are connected to a USB 3.0/3.1 port on your computer for optimal 5Gbps speeds. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port will result in slower speeds.
- Check the health of your hard drives.
8. User Tips
- This product is an external storage device enclosure; it does not come with pre-installed hard drives. You will need to purchase and install your own 2.5" or 3.5" SATA SSDs/HDDs.
- The aluminum case is not just for aesthetics; it significantly aids in heat dissipation, contributing to the longevity and performance of your drives.
- The enclosure supports a wide range of hard drives, up to 128TB total capacity, making it suitable for extensive data storage needs.
