3. Operating Instructions

3.1 First Boot-up

After all components are installed and connected, power on your system. The motherboard will perform a Power-On Self-Test (POST). If successful, you will see the BIOS/UEFI splash screen.

3.2 BIOS/UEFI Setup

To enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility, press the designated key (usually DEL or F2) during the POST process. In the BIOS/UEFI, you can configure system settings such as boot order, date/time, and hardware parameters. Refer to the BIOS/UEFI interface for specific options.

3.3 Driver Installation

After installing your operating system, install the necessary drivers for the chipset, audio, LAN, and any other integrated components. These drivers are typically provided on a CD/DVD with the motherboard or can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.

4. Maintenance

4.1 General Care

  • Keep your computer case clean and free of dust to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
  • Regularly check fan operation (CPU, case, power supply) to ensure they are spinning freely and quietly.
  • Avoid spilling liquids near your computer.

4.2 BIOS Updates

Periodically check the manufacturer's website for BIOS/UEFI updates. Updates can improve system stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Follow the update instructions carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues

  • No Power: Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 4-pin CPU) are securely connected. Verify the power supply is switched on and functioning.
  • No Display: Check monitor connections. Ensure the graphics card (if dedicated) is properly seated and powered. If using integrated graphics, ensure the monitor is connected to the motherboard's video output.
  • System Instability/Crashes: This can be caused by incompatible or faulty RAM (refer to memory compatibility note), insufficient power supply, or overheating. Check component temperatures and ensure adequate cooling.
  • CPU Pin Damage: As shown in Figure 2.2.2, bent or broken CPU pins can prevent the system from booting. Handle the CPU with extreme care during installation. If damage occurs, contact the seller for support.
  • Memory Compatibility: If you experience issues with memory, ensure you are using DDR3 desktop memory from a compatible brand.

5.2 Diagnostic Beep Codes

If your system fails to boot, listen for a series of beeps from the motherboard's speaker. These beep codes often indicate specific hardware issues (e.g., memory error, graphics card error). Consult the motherboard's specific beep code documentation (if available) or common BIOS beep code guides online for diagnosis.
