1. Introduction

The V701 OBD2/EOBD+CAN Code Reader Scanner is a compact and powerful diagnostic tool designed to help you understand and maintain your vehicle's health. The V701 scanner features a 2.8-inch TFT screen, indicator lights, and comfortable silicone buttons for ease of use. It connects to your vehicle via a standard OBD2 16-pin plug and is designed for plug-and-play operation without the need for an extra charger.

3. Setup

The V701 scanner is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. Follow these steps to set up and begin using your device:

  1. Locate the OBD2 Port: The OBD2 port is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual if you cannot find it.
  2. Connect the Scanner: Plug the 16-pin OBDII connector of the V701 scanner firmly into your car's OBD2 interface.
  3. Power On: The scanner will automatically power on once connected to the vehicle's OBD2 port. No external power source or batteries are required.
  4. Initial Boot-up: The device will display its main menu. You are now ready to perform diagnostic functions.

4. Operating Instructions

The V701 scanner offers a range of functions to diagnose your vehicle. Use the OK, ESC, and arrow buttons to navigate the menu and select options.

4.1. Main Functions Overview

4.2. Reading and Clearing Codes

  1. From the main menu, select "Read DTC" to view current diagnostic trouble codes.
  2. After addressing any identified issues, select "Clear DTC" to erase the codes. This will turn off the Check Engine Light (MIL).

4.3. Live Data Stream and Real-Time Curve

The V701 can scan more than 70 kinds of live data streams and display them as real-time curves. This helps in diagnosing intermittent problems and understanding engine performance.

  1. Select "Data Stream" from the main menu.
  2. Choose the parameters you wish to monitor (e.g., Car Speed, Calculate Load Value, Engine Coolant Temp, Engine RPM).
  3. The scanner will display the data numerically and graphically.

4.4. I/M Readiness

This function checks if the various emissions-related systems on the vehicle are operating correctly and are ready for inspection and maintenance (I/M) testing. It shows the status of monitors like MIL Status, Misfire Monitor, Fuel System Mon, Catalyst Mon, Htd Catalyst, EVAP System Mon, and Sec Air System.

4.5. Voltage Test and DTC Lookup

The V701 includes a built-in voltage test function to display the real-time voltage of your vehicle's battery. It also has a DTC Library with over 10,000 codes to help you quickly understand the meaning of diagnostic trouble codes.
