3. Setup Guide

The JRHC 656 barcode scanner is designed for ease of use with a plug-and-play functionality. Follow these steps to set up your scanner:

  1. Connect the Scanner: Plug the USB cable of the barcode scanner into an available USB port on your computer (laptop, desktop PC, or POS system).
  2. System Recognition: Your operating system (Windows XP/7/8/10, Mac OS*, Linux, Android) should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. No manual driver installation is typically required.
  3. Prepare for Scanning: Open any text-editable application such as Notepad, Word, Excel, or a dedicated inventory software. Place the cursor where you want the scanned barcode data to appear.
  4. First Scan Test: Align the scanner head with a 1D or 2D barcode. The scanner will emit a light and a beep (if enabled) upon successful scan, and the barcode data will be transmitted to your application.

*Note: For Mac OS, a specific connector may be needed and is not included in the package. This scanner is NOT compatible with Pad, Tablet, or Smartphone devices directly, and does NOT support Bluetooth functionality.

4.1 Scanning Modes

  • Beep Setting: Turn the audible beep sound on or off to suit your environment.
  • Multi-Language Support: The scanner supports keyboard layouts for multiple languages, including English, Spanish, German, Japanese, French, and Italian.

5. Maintenance
