TWS (True Wireless Stereo) Function

Figure 9: TWS Connection Sketch Map
  • TWS Connection Method: To connect two ZK-DAM H1 products in TWS mode:
    1. Ensure both products are powered on, and BT is not connected, nor are USB or AUX inserted.
    2. Long press and hold the microphone volume adjustment knob (MIC_VOL) on one of the products for more than 3 seconds. The red TWS indicator light will flash, indicating it's searching for a match.
    3. After successful pairing, the TWS indicator light on this product (the host) will remain on for the left channel. The TWS indicator light on the other product (the slave) will flash slowly for the right channel.
    4. Once paired, the TWS function will work across BT, USB, and AUX modes.
  • TWS Cancellation Method: Long press the microphone volume adjustment knob (MIC_VOL) of either product for more than 3 seconds. The red indicator light will turn off, indicating TWS has been cancelled.
  • TWS Clearing Pairing Records: After TWS pairing, both the host and slave record each other. To clear these records and allow pairing with a different third party, long press the music volume adjustment knob (MUSIC_VOL) for more than 3 seconds on both units.
  • TWS Notes:
    • In TWS mode, only the host unit will output microphone sound.
    • Due to resource limitations in TWS mode, decoding of FLAC and APE songs from a USB drive may experience lag. This issue does not occur in non-TWS modes.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ZK-DAM H1 board, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Regularly check connections for secure fit.

Troubleshooting

  • No sound output:
    • Check all power and audio connections.
    • Ensure the correct input mode (BT, USB, AUX) is selected.
    • Verify that the music and microphone volume knobs are not set to minimum.
    • Confirm your amplifier/speakers are powered on and functioning correctly.
  • Bluetooth connection issues:
    • Ensure the ZK-DAM H1 is in Bluetooth mode (blue light on continuously after pairing).
    • Make sure no USB drive or AUX cable is inserted, as these modes preempt Bluetooth.
    • Clear previous Bluetooth pairing records on your device and the ZK-DAM H1 (long press MIC_VOL for 3 seconds to unpair, MUSIC_VOL for 3 seconds to clear records).
    • Ensure your Bluetooth device is within the 15m range.
  • Microphone not working:
    • Check microphone connections to inputs A and B.
    • Adjust microphone volume, bass, treble, and effect knobs.
    • Ensure the microphone is functional.
  • TWS pairing failure:
    • Ensure both units are powered on and no other inputs (USB, AUX, BT connection) are active.
    • Follow the TWS connection method precisely, long-pressing the MIC_VOL knob for 3 seconds on one unit.
    • Clear TWS pairing records on both units if previous pairings are causing issues (long press MUSIC_VOL for 3 seconds).
  • FLAC/APE lag in TWS mode: This is a known limitation due to resource constraints. Consider using non-TWS mode or different audio formats if this is critical.

User Tips

  • Input Priority: The ZK-DAM H1 prioritizes USB and AUX inputs over Bluetooth. If an AUX cable or USB drive is connected, the board will operate in that mode. To use Bluetooth, ensure no USB drive or AUX cable is inserted.
