5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To maintain your keyboard's performance and appearance:
- Disconnect the keyboard from your computer before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe the keycaps and chassis.
- For dust and debris between keys, use compressed air.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the keyboard's finish or keycap legends.
5.2 Keycap and Switch Replacement
The DAREU A81 features hot-swappable switches, allowing for easy customization and replacement without soldering.

- To remove a keycap, use a keycap puller to gently lift it straight up.
- To remove a switch, use a switch puller to grasp the top and bottom clips of the switch and pull it straight out.
- When installing new switches, ensure the pins are aligned correctly with the sockets on the PCB to avoid bending. Press firmly until the switch clicks into place.
- Replace keycaps by aligning them with the switch stem and pressing down gently.
6. Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding (Wired):
Ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable. - Keyboard not responding (Wireless):
Check if the keyboard is in the correct wireless mode (Bluetooth or 2.4Ghz). For 2.4Ghz, ensure the USB receiver is properly inserted. For Bluetooth, verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is paired. Check battery level. - Backlight not working or incorrect:
Press FN + [ to cycle through backlight effects. If the issue persists, try performing a factory reset (FN + ESC). - Keys not registering:
Ensure the keyboard is properly connected. If using hot-swappable switches, gently press down on the affected switch to ensure it is fully seated. If a specific switch is faulty, it can be replaced. - Intermittent connectivity:
For wireless modes, ensure there are no strong interference sources nearby. Try moving closer to the receiver/device. Ensure the keyboard battery is sufficiently charged.
7. User Tips
- Maximize Battery Life: To extend battery life, utilize the intelligent sleep function and consider turning off the RGB backlight when not actively using the keyboard, especially in wireless modes.
- Customization: Take advantage of the hot-swappable switch feature to experiment with different switch types (e.g., linear Sky axis for smooth typing, tactile Purple Gold axis for a 'typewriter' feel) to find your preferred typing experience.
- Enhanced Typing Feel: The gasket construction, combined with PORON cotton and silicone, significantly improves the typing sound and feel by reducing harsh bottom-out impacts and hollow sounds.
