Setup
- **Unpacking**: Carefully remove the circuit analyzer and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components are present.
- **Battery Installation**: The device requires 6 AAA batteries (not included).
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert 6 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery cover securely.
- **Power On**: Press the green power button to turn on the device. The LCD screen should illuminate.
- **Connecting to Power**: Plug the circuit analyzer into the electrical outlet you wish to test. Ensure the correct regional power cord (EU for MS5908C, US for MS5908A) is used.

Operating Instructions
The MS5908C/MS5908A features an intuitive interface with an LCD display and several control buttons. Familiarize yourself with the buttons:
- **Power Button**: Turns the device ON/OFF.
- **FUNC (Function) Button**: Cycles through different measurement modes (e.g., voltage, frequency, impedance).
- **HOLD Button**: Freezes the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
- **TEST Button**: Initiates specific tests, such as RCD/GFCI tests.
- **Up/Down Arrow Buttons**: Used for navigation or adjusting parameters in certain modes.
- **Backlight Button**: Toggles the display backlight ON/OFF.

General Measurement (Voltage, Frequency, Impedance)
- Plug the circuit analyzer into the desired outlet.
- Press the **Power** button to turn on the device.
- Use the **FUNC** button to cycle through the available measurement modes until the desired parameter (e.g., Wire Voltage, Frequency) is displayed.
- The current reading will be shown on the LCD.
- To hold a reading, press the **HOLD** button. Press again to resume live measurement.
RCD/GFCI Testing
Caution: RCD/GFCI testing will trip the circuit breaker. Ensure all connected devices are safely shut down or disconnected before performing this test.
- Plug the circuit analyzer into the outlet protected by the RCD/GFCI.
- Ensure the device is powered on and in the appropriate RCD/GFCI test mode (select using **FUNC** if necessary).
- Press the **TEST** button. The device will simulate a fault condition to trigger the RCD/GFCI.
- Observe the display for the tripping time and current.
- If the RCD/GFCI does not trip within the specified time, it may be faulty and should be inspected by a qualified electrician.
- Reset the circuit breaker after the test.
Wire Drop Measurement (MS5908A/MS5908C Specific)
This function measures the voltage drop across the circuit under an artificial load.
- Plug the circuit analyzer into the outlet.
- Select the wire drop measurement mode using the **FUNC** button.
- The device will apply a specified artificial load (12A, 15A, 20A for MS5908A; 5A, 8A, 10A for MS5908C) and measure the voltage drop.
- The result will be displayed on the LCD.
Maintenance
- **Cleaning**: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- **Storage**: Store the circuit analyzer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- **Battery Replacement**: When the low battery indicator appears on the LCD, replace all 6 AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings and proper device function.
- **Inspection**: Regularly inspect the device for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the casing or frayed cables. Do not use a damaged device.
Troubleshooting
- **Device does not power on**: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
- **Inaccurate readings**: Ensure the device is properly connected to the outlet. Check battery level. Avoid using the device in environments with strong electromagnetic interference.
- **RCD/GFCI does not trip during test**: This indicates a potential fault with the RCD/GFCI itself. Consult a qualified electrician immediately.
- **Display issues**: If the display is dim or flickering, replace the batteries. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
User Tips
- Always ensure the device is in good working condition before use.
- For critical measurements, perform the test multiple times to confirm consistency.
- Keep the instruction manual handy for quick reference during operation.
- When testing RCD/GFCI, inform others in the area that power will be temporarily interrupted.
