1. Introduction

The SHAHE Digital Torque Adapter is a precision instrument designed for monitoring and controlling torque during tightening and disassembly operations. When used with a standard ratchet wrench, it provides accurate digital readings and features to ensure proper torque application. This adapter is ideal for various applications including automotive, bicycle maintenance, and general machinery repair.

2. Functions and Features

  • High Accuracy: Bidirectional reading error is ±2% clockwise and ±2.5% counterclockwise, ensuring reliable measurements in both directions.
  • Multiple Units: Easily switch between four torque units: kgf.cm, N.m, lbf.ft, and lbf.in.
  • Audible and Visual Alarms: Features a sound and light alarm function, along with a backlight, for convenient operation in low-light conditions. The buzzer sounds and the LCD lights up when the target torque value is reached.
  • Versatile Working Modes: Three modes available: real-time (track) mode, peak mode, and preset mode.
  • Power Saving: Automatic shutdown feature turns off the device after 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
  • Durable Construction: Made from Chromium-vanadium Steel for long-lasting performance.

The adapter comes with multiple connectors to accommodate various socket sizes:

4. Setup and Initial Use

  1. Battery Installation: The device requires 2 pieces of 1.5V AAA# batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment, insert the batteries with correct polarity, and close the compartment securely.
  2. Power On/Off: Press the "P/C" (Power/Clear) button to turn the device on. Press and hold the "P/C" button to turn it off.
  3. Attaching Adapters: Select the appropriate adapter (3/8" or 1/4") if your socket is not 1/2". Insert the adapter into the torque gauge's 1/2" drive, then attach your socket to the adapter. Finally, attach the entire assembly to your ratchet wrench.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Unit Conversion

To change the torque unit, press the "U/S" button. The display will cycle through the available units: kgf.cm, N.m, lbf.ft, and lbf.in.

5.2. Working Modes

Press the "M" button to cycle through the three working modes:

  • Track Mode: Displays the real-time torque value as it is applied.
  • Peak Mode: Captures and displays the maximum torque value reached during an operation.
  • Preset Mode: Allows you to set a target torque value. The device will alert you when this value is reached.

5.3. Setting Preset Value (in Track Mode)

  1. In Track Mode, press the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the desired preset torque value.
  2. Press the "U/S" button to save the preset value.

5.4. Backlight Function (LTON)

To control the backlight:

  • Press the "U/S" button. The display will show "Lton".
  • Press the "+" or "-" button to toggle the backlight on (1) or off (0).
  • Press the "M" button to save the setting.

5.5. Audible and Visual Alarms

When operating in Preset Mode, the device provides clear alerts:

  • Upon reaching the preset target torque value, the device will emit a beeping sound.
  • Simultaneously, the red indicator light will illuminate, and the LCD display will light up.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the torque adapter in its protective case in a dry environment when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears on the display to ensure accurate readings. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
  • Automatic Shutdown: The device is designed to automatically shut down after 10 minutes of no operation to save battery life.

7. Troubleshooting
