Introduction
The TOOLTOP ET692B is a professional thermal imaging camera designed for a wide range of applications including building inspection, vehicle maintenance, automotive parts temperature detection, floor heating detection, electrical inspection, motor fault detection, and general temperature monitoring of industrial parts. It features a highly sensitive 160x120 infrared sensor with a 25Hz frame rate for quick and clear imaging, a 2.8-inch TFT full viewing angle screen, and multiple imaging and display modes.
Note: To ensure accurate measurements, a mechanical control calibration plate is installed in front of the thermal imaging detector. This plate calibrates every 10 seconds, causing a normal pause of approximately 1-3 seconds. This is expected behavior and not a malfunction.

Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the thermal imager, USB cable, and instruction manual from the packaging.
- Charging the Battery: The device includes a removable 2200mAh rechargeable lithium battery. Before first use, or if the battery is low, connect the device to a power source using the provided Micro USB cable. The device can be charged even when powered off.
- Power On: Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to turn on the device.

Data Management and PC Analysis
The device supports photo-taking and video recording. Images are stored in JPG format and videos in MP4 format. Data can be exported to a computer via a Micro USB connection. The included PC software allows for offline analysis of captured thermal images, compatible with Windows XP, 7, 8, and 10 operating systems.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device's exterior. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution to avoid scratches. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the thermal imager in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the device is powered off before storage.
- Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing the device for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and recharge every few months.
- Software Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available software or firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on: Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the device to a power source using the USB cable and try again. Remember to press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
- Image freezes or pauses during operation: This is a normal phenomenon due to the mechanical control calibration plate. The device calibrates every 10 seconds, causing a brief 1-3 second pause to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Inaccurate temperature readings: Check the emissivity setting and adjust it according to the material being inspected. Ensure the lens is clean and free from obstructions.
- Cannot connect to PC or export data: Ensure the Micro USB cable is securely connected to both the device and the computer. Verify that the computer's operating system (Windows XP, 7, 8, 10) is supported. Try restarting both the device and the computer.
- Screen is dim or unclear: Adjust the screen brightness in the device settings. Ensure the screen is clean.

User Tips
- Detecting Pipes Behind Walls: While a thermal imager cannot 'see through' walls or tiles, it can detect temperature differences on the surface that might indicate the presence of hot or cold pipes behind them. The effectiveness depends on the temperature differential and the wall material/thickness.
- Detection Distance: Thermal imagers measure temperature based on infrared radiation emitted from surfaces. The accuracy of the temperature reading is generally not limited by distance in the same way a visual camera is, but the spatial resolution (IFOV) means that smaller objects or details will require closer proximity to be accurately measured. The field of view (35°*27°) determines the area captured at a given distance.
- Understanding Calibration Pauses: Don't be alarmed by the brief 1-3 second pauses during operation. These are normal calibration cycles to maintain measurement accuracy.
- Optimizing Image Clarity: Experiment with the different color palettes and fusion modes to find the best visualization for your specific inspection task. For example, 'Iron Oxide Red' often highlights hot spots clearly, while 'Black & White' can be useful for fine thermal detail.
