- Read all instructions carefully before installing or operating this appliance.
- Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
- Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel-burning equipment to prevent back-drafting.
- When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
- Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
- This unit must be grounded.
- Always disconnect power to the range hood at the circuit breaker or fuse box before cleaning or performing any service.
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boil-overs cause smoking and greasy spill-overs that may ignite.
- Clean grease filters frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.

5. Setup and Installation
This vent hood can be installed in either ducted or ductless (recirculating) mode. Professional installation is recommended.
5.1 Installation Type
Ducted Mode: Air is exhausted outside through a 6-inch round duct. This mode offers the most effective ventilation.
Ductless Mode: Air is filtered through optional carbon filters (Part #CFZMG01, sold separately) and recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external venting is not possible.

5.2 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Ensure you have all necessary tools and hardware as listed in the installation kit.
- Confirm the mounting surface is strong enough to support the hood's weight.
- For ducted installation, ensure a 6-inch round duct opening is available or can be created.
- For ductless installation, ensure you have the CFZMG01 Carbon Kit.
- Verify electrical supply (110-120V, 50/60Hz) with a 3-prong outlet is accessible.
5.3 Mounting the Hood
- Carefully measure and mark the mounting points on the wall according to the product dimensions and your desired height above the cooking surface. Refer to the 'Product Dimensions' diagram in the Specifications section.
- Drill pilot holes and install mounting brackets/anchors as per the installation kit instructions.
- With assistance, lift the hood and securely attach it to the wall mounting points.
- Install the flexible pipe for ducted mode, connecting it to the hood's exhaust outlet and the external vent.
- Install the two stainless steel chimney covers, adjusting their height to fit your ceiling.
5.4 Electrical Connection
- Connect the 3-prong plug to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the power is off at the circuit breaker during connection.
5.5 Filter Installation
- Insert the three stainless steel baffle filters into their designated slots on the underside of the hood. Ensure they are securely latched.

The stainless steel baffle filters are designed to trap grease and are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning.
- Disconnect Power: Always turn off the power to the range hood at the circuit breaker before cleaning.
- Remove Filters: Locate the latches or handles on each filter. Gently pull or slide to release and remove the filters.
- Clean Filters: Wash the filters in a dishwasher or by hand using hot water and a mild detergent. For stubborn grease, soak them before scrubbing.

7.2 Cleaning the Exterior Surface
- Disconnect Power: Turn off the power to the range hood at the circuit breaker.
- Wipe Down: Use a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent to clean the stainless steel surfaces.
- Dry Thoroughly: Wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth to prevent water spots and maintain the finish.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the stainless steel.
7.3 LED Lights
The LED lights are designed for long life and typically do not require replacement. If a light issue occurs, please refer to the Troubleshooting section or contact customer support.
8. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, please check the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Hood fan does not turn on | No power supply Control button not pressed correctly | Check if the hood is plugged in and the circuit breaker is ON. Ensure the '0' (Power) button is pressed firmly. |
| Lights do not turn on | No power supply Light button not pressed correctly | Check power supply. Ensure the 'Light Bulb Icon' button is pressed firmly. |
| Poor suction performance | Clogged filters Improper ducting (for ducted mode) Incorrect carbon filter installation (for ductless mode) | Clean the baffle filters. Check for obstructions in the ductwork and ensure proper sealing. Verify that the carbon filters are correctly installed and not saturated. |
| Excessive noise | Loose parts Obstruction in fan/duct Improper installation | Check for any loose screws or components. Inspect the fan and duct for foreign objects. Ensure the hood is securely mounted and level. |
9. User Tips
- Activate Before Cooking: Turn on your range hood a few minutes before you start cooking to establish an airflow pattern that effectively captures smoke and odors.
- Match Fan Speed to Cooking: Use lower fan speeds for simmering and light cooking, and higher speeds for frying, grilling, or when producing a lot of smoke or steam.
- Regular Filter Cleaning: Clean the baffle filters regularly (e.g., monthly for average use) to maintain optimal suction power and prevent grease buildup.
- Proper Pot Placement: Position pots and pans on the rear burners when possible, as this is often directly under the most effective part of the hood's capture area.
10. Warranty and Support
