3. Package Contents

4. Safety Information

  • Ensure the bench is assembled correctly and all fasteners are tightened before use.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 150 kg for the bench top and 50 kg for the interior storage.

5. Assembly Instructions

Assembly of the WOLTU Storage Bench is designed to be straightforward. Please follow the steps below carefully. It is recommended to have a second person assist with assembly for easier handling of larger components.

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components and hardware from the box. Refer to the included parts list in the accessory kit to identify each piece.
  2. Prepare the Base: Assemble the base frame of the bench according to the diagram in your accessory kit, ensuring all connections are secure.
  3. Attach Side Panels: Connect the side panels to the base. Ensure the recessed handles are facing outwards if applicable.
  4. Install Front/Back Panels: Secure the front and back panels to the assembled sides and base.
  5. Assemble the Lid: Attach the lid components, including the hinges. Pay close attention to the orientation of the safety hinges.
  6. Mount the Lid to the Bench: Carefully attach the assembled lid to the main bench structure using the provided hinges and fasteners. Ensure the safety hinges function correctly, allowing the lid to stay open at various angles.
  7. Install Buffers: Apply the 6 included buffers to the contact points where the lid meets the bench frame when closed. These buffers help reduce wear and provide a softer close.
  8. Final Check: Verify that all screws are tightened, and the bench is stable. Test the lid's opening and closing mechanism.

6. Operating Instructions

Opening and Closing the Lid:

  • To open, gently lift the lid from the front recess. The safety hinges will hold the lid open at your desired angle, up to 90 degrees.
  • To close, gently push the lid downwards. The safety hinges will provide resistance, preventing it from slamming shut.

Using as a Storage Unit:

  • Place items such as blankets, pillows, toys, or books inside the 76L storage compartment.
  • Ensure the total weight of items inside does not exceed 50 kg.
  • Close the lid to keep contents dust-free and out of sight.

Using as a Bench/Seat:

  • The bench can support a total weight of up to 150 kg.
  • It is suitable for sitting in an entrance area, living room, or bedroom.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the lacquered finish.
  • Spills: Promptly wipe up any spills to prevent water stains or damage to the wood material.
  • Protection: Although the bench is water and scratch resistant, using coasters or placemats when placing items on top can further protect the surface.
  • Moisture Protection: The design with a distance between the bottom and the floor helps protect the bench from water stains and moisture from the floor. However, avoid placing the bench in excessively damp environments.
  • Fasteners: Periodically check all screws and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Lid not closing smoothly: Check if any items inside are obstructing the lid. Ensure the hinges are clean and free from debris. Verify that the buffers are correctly placed and not causing obstruction.
  • Bench feels wobbly: Re-check all assembly screws and fasteners. Tighten any loose connections. Ensure the bench is on a level surface.
  • Scratches on surface: Minor scratches on lacquered wood can sometimes be buffed out with a suitable furniture polish. For deeper scratches, consult a furniture repair specialist.
