LOMEHO PA6/8 6/8 Channel Mixing Console User Manual

Your guide to setting up and operating your LOMEHO mixing console.

1. Introduction

The LOMEHO PA6/8 is a versatile 6/8 channel mixing console designed for various audio applications, including live sound, studio recording, and content creation. It features 256 built-in DSP effects, Bluetooth connectivity, USB play and record capabilities, 48V phantom power for condenser microphones, and a 7-band main equalizer for precise sound control.

2. Safety Information

  • Electrical Safety: To prevent electric shock, do not open the casing. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Moisture Warning: Do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture to avoid fire or electric shock hazards.
  • Power Supply: Ensure the power supply matches the specified voltage (AC 100V-240V, 50/60Hz) before connecting.

4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

Connect the provided power cable to the AC input on the rear of the mixer and then to a suitable power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the 'OFF' position before connecting, then switch 'ON' after all connections are made.

4.2 Microphone Connections

  • 48V Condenser Microphone: Use an XLR cable to connect the microphone to an input channel. Press the +48V PHANTOM button to supply power.

  • Dynamic Microphone (XLR): Use an XLR cable. Ensure the +48V PHANTOM button is OFF to prevent damage to the microphone.

  • Dynamic Microphone (6.35mm): Use a 6.35mm (1/4") TS cable. The +48V phantom power does not affect 6.35mm sockets. Note that the sound level may be lower compared to XLR connections.

  • Non-48V Condenser Microphone: This type of microphone is not compatible with this mixer.

4.3 External Effects/Equalizer Connection

To connect external effects processors or equalizers, use the AUX FX (TS) output jacks.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

Adjust the main faders (L/R) to control the overall output volume. Individual channel faders control the volume of each input.

5.2 DSP Effects

The mixer features 256 digital signal processing (DSP) effects. These include various types of Echo, Reverb, Chorus, and more.

  1. Effect Type Selection: Rotate the 'ENTER' knob to browse through the 256 effects. Press the 'ENTER' knob to confirm your selection.

  1. Applying Effects to Channels: Use the 'FX' knob on each channel to send that channel's signal to the selected DSP effect.

5.3 USB Functions (Play/Record)

The mixer's USB port supports both U-disk (USB drive) and PC connections for audio playback and recording.

5.3.1 U-disk Playback

  1. Format: Ensure your U-disk is formatted to FAT32.

  1. Supported Audio Formats: The mixer supports MP3, WAV, and WMA files for playback.

  1. Playback: Insert the U-disk into the USB OTG port. Playback will start automatically.

  1. Playback Modes: Long press the Play/Pause button to cycle through playback modes: ONE (single track repeat), RDO (random play), ALL (all tracks repeat).

5.3.2 U-disk Recording

  1. Record Format: Recordings are saved in MP3 format.
  2. Start Recording: Short press the 'MODE' button to enter 'REC' mode, then short press the Play/Pause button to start recording. The display will show recording time.

5.3.3 PC Connection (Play & Record)

Connect the mixer to your computer via a USB cable. The mixer will function as an audio interface for playing audio from your PC and recording audio to your PC.

For recording, select the mixer as the input/output device in your audio software (e.g., Audacity).

5.4 Bluetooth Function

The mixer is Bluetooth-compatible for wireless audio input from devices like smartphones or tablets.

  1. Pairing: Short press the 'MODE' button until 'bt' appears and flashes on the display, indicating it's waiting for pairing. On your device, search for 'BT-NSMIX' and connect. Once connected, 'bt' will stop flashing.

5.5 7-Band Main EQ

Use the 7-band equalizer faders to adjust the frequency response of the main output mix. This allows you to fine-tune the overall sound to suit your environment or preference.

5.6 Headphone Volume Control

Adjust the 'PHONE' knob to control the volume of the headphone output.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the mixer's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Display Protection: The display comes with a protective film. If it becomes unclear, you can carefully peel it off.

7. Troubleshooting

  • PC Recording Noise: When recording via PC, a slight noise may be present. This is a known characteristic of the mixer.
  • USB Microphone Not Working: The USB port is not designed for USB microphones. USB microphones are incompatible.
  • Non-48V Condenser Microphone Not Working: Only 48V condenser microphones are compatible when +48V phantom power is enabled via XLR.
  • Dynamic Microphone (6.35mm) Low Volume: Using a 6.35mm (1/4") plug for dynamic microphones may result in lower sound levels compared to XLR connections.
  • Dynamic Microphone (XLR) Damage: Always ensure +48V phantom power is OFF when connecting dynamic microphones via XLR to prevent potential damage.
  • Cannot Connect to Bluetooth Speaker: The mixer's Bluetooth function is for receiving audio input, not for connecting to Bluetooth speakers.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal sound quality with dynamic microphones, use an XLR connection and ensure +48V phantom power is OFF.
  • When using a USB drive for playback or recording, always format it to FAT32 for compatibility.
  • Remember that the mixer's USB port is for data transfer (U-disk, PC audio) and not for connecting USB microphones.
  • The Bluetooth feature is for receiving audio from your smart devices, not for outputting to Bluetooth speakers.
