2. Safety Information
⚠ WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including phthalates (DEHP), which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Always operate your remote control equipment responsibly and in accordance with local laws and regulations. Ensure you understand the operation of your aircraft before attempting flight.
3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
The Esky MINI 6X Transmitter does not include batteries. You will need to purchase appropriate batteries separately (typically AA batteries, consult your product packaging for specific requirements).
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the transmitter.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the required batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
3.2. Transmitter Modes (Mode 1 / Mode 2)
The MINI 6X transmitter is available in two configurations: Mode 1 and Mode 2. These modes define the function of the control sticks.
- Mode 1: The throttle control is on the right stick.
- Mode 2: The throttle control is on the left stick. (This is the most common mode in many regions, including North America).

Ensure you select the correct mode that matches your flying preference and the receiver/aircraft setup.
3.3. Binding Procedure
Before first use, the transmitter must be bound to your aircraft's receiver. The exact binding procedure may vary slightly depending on the specific Esky aircraft model (ESKY 300 V2, Sparrow, 150 V3, 150 BL). Refer to your aircraft's manual for detailed binding instructions. Generally, the steps involve:
- Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered off.
- Place the receiver in binding mode (often by pressing a bind button while powering on, or inserting a bind plug).
- Power on the receiver. The receiver's LED will typically flash rapidly.
- While holding the bind button on the transmitter (if present), power on the transmitter.
- The transmitter and receiver LEDs should indicate a successful bind (e.g., solid light on both).
- Power off both devices, then power them on normally to confirm the bind.
4. Operating the Transmitter
The Esky MINI 6X is a 6-channel transmitter, providing control over various functions of your RC aircraft. The primary controls are the two main sticks, along with additional switches and trim levers.
Figure 4: Detailed view of the Esky MINI 6X Transmitter controls.
4.1. Basic Controls
- Left Stick (Mode 2): Controls Throttle (up/down) and Rudder (left/right).
- Right Stick (Mode 2): Controls Aileron (left/right) and Elevator (up/down).
- Trim Levers: Small levers adjacent to the main sticks, used for fine-tuning control surfaces to achieve stable flight.
- Switches: Additional switches on the top of the transmitter are typically used for functions like flight modes, gear, or auxiliary channels, depending on your aircraft's setup.
Always perform a range check and control surface check before each flight to ensure all controls are functioning correctly and in the correct direction.
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the transmitter. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the transmitter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- Battery Care: Always use fresh batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
- Inspection: Periodically check the control sticks, switches, and antenna for any signs of damage or wear.
6. Troubleshooting
- Transmitter Not Powering On:
- Check if batteries are installed correctly with proper polarity.
- Replace with fresh batteries.
- No Control Signal / Loss of Link:
- Ensure the transmitter and receiver are properly bound (refer to Section 3.3).
- Verify the receiver in the aircraft is powered on and functioning.
- Perform a range check to ensure you are within operational limits.
- Check for potential interference from other 2.4GHz devices.
- Incorrect Control Response:
- Check if the transmitter is in the correct mode (Mode 1 or Mode 2) for your aircraft.
- Verify that the control surfaces on the aircraft move in the correct direction relative to stick inputs. If not, reverse the channel on the transmitter (if supported) or receiver.
- Ensure trim settings are neutral or adjusted correctly.

8. User Tips
- Pre-Flight Checks: Always perform a thorough pre-flight check, including battery levels, control surface movement, and range, before every flight.
- Practice on a Simulator: If you are new to RC flying, consider practicing on a flight simulator to get accustomed to the controls without risking your aircraft.
- Environmental Awareness: Be mindful of your surroundings when flying. Avoid flying near people, animals, power lines, or restricted airspace.
- Battery Management: Never completely discharge your transmitter batteries. Replace them when they show signs of low power to avoid unexpected signal loss.
