5. Setup

Before using your TUXING 2L Carbon Fiber High Pressure Air Tank, ensure all connections are secure and compatible with your charging or usage equipment.

  1. Inspect the Tank: Visually inspect the tank for any signs of damage, cracks, or wear. Check the manufacturing date and re-test date on the tank label.
  2. Check the Valve: Ensure the regulator valve is securely attached to the tank's M18*1.5 thread.
  3. Connect to Equipment: Use the 8mm male quick plug to connect the tank to your PCP air compressor, fill station, or other compatible high-pressure air device. Ensure the connection is tight and leak-free.
  4. Verify Gauges: Confirm that the pressure gauges on the regulator are functioning correctly and show zero pressure before connecting to a fill source.

6. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe operation of your high-pressure air tank:

  1. Filling the Tank:
    • Connect the tank to a high-pressure air source (e.g., PCP compressor) using the quick plug.
    • Slowly open the on/off valve on the tank's regulator.
    • Begin filling the tank from the air source, monitoring the pressure gauges carefully. Do NOT exceed the maximum working pressure of 300 BAR (4500 Psi).
    • Once the desired pressure is reached, close the air source valve, then close the tank's on/off valve.
    • Slowly open the release valve on the tank's regulator to bleed off any residual pressure in the hose before disconnecting.
    • Disconnect the tank from the air source.
  2. Discharging Air (Using the Tank):
    • Connect the tank to your device (e.g., scuba gear, airgun) using a compatible connection.
    • Slowly open the on/off valve on the tank's regulator to allow air to flow to your device.
    • Monitor the pressure gauges to ensure adequate pressure for your application.
    • When finished, close the tank's on/off valve.
    • If necessary, use the release valve to depressurize the connection before disconnecting your device.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safety of your TUXING air tank.

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the tank and valve for any signs of damage, corrosion, or leaks. Pay close attention to the threads and seals.
  • Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the tank clean and free from dirt and debris. Use a damp cloth; do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the tank in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and corrosive materials. Ensure the valve is closed and protected.
  • Re-Test Period: The tank has a mandatory re-test period of 3 years. Ensure your tank is re-tested by a certified facility within this timeframe to maintain safety and compliance.
  • Design Working Life: The design working life of this cylinder is 15 years. After this period, the tank should be decommissioned.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TUXING air tank, consider the following general troubleshooting steps:

  • Air Leakage: Check all connections for tightness. Inspect O-rings and seals for damage or wear. A slight hiss might indicate a loose connection or a worn seal.
  • Pressure Gauge Malfunction: If a gauge is not reading correctly, it may be faulty and require replacement. Do not rely on a faulty gauge.
  • Difficulty Filling/Discharging: Ensure all valves are fully open or closed as required. Check for obstructions in the quick plug or hose.

For persistent issues, contact customer support or a qualified technician.

9. User Tips

  • Check Manufacturing Date: Always verify the manufacturing date and the next re-test date printed on your cylinder. This is crucial for safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Slow Filling: When filling the tank, always do so slowly to prevent overheating and to ensure an accurate pressure reading.
  • Protect Threads: Keep the M18*1.5 neck thread clean and protected to ensure a good seal with the valve.
