1. Introduction
The JJC BTR-S1 Wireless Remote Control is specifically designed for use with select Sony cameras. This remote enables wireless control of your camera from a distance of approximately 10 meters (32.8 feet) in any direction. Its multi-functional design supports various camera operations including shooting still images, recording videos, adjusting camera focus, zooming, and activating the camera's C1 or AF-ON functions. For convenience and to prevent accidental operations, the remote features a LOCK switch. The compact and portable design allows it to be easily carried in a pocket or attached to a key ring. It is powered by a single CR2032 battery.

3. Parts Identification

6. Setup
6.1 Battery Installation
The remote control requires one CR2032 battery for operation. A battery is included in the package.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control (refer to Figure 1).
- Twist the battery compartment cover counter-clockwise to open it.
- Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.
- Replace the cover and twist it clockwise to secure.
6.2 Pairing with Your Camera
Follow these steps to pair the JJC BTR-S1 remote control with your compatible Sony camera:

- Before starting, ensure the remote control's LOCK switch is in the unlocked position (opposite of "LOCK").
- On your camera, navigate to MENU → (network) → [Bluetooth Function] → [On].
- On your camera, navigate to MENU → (network) → [Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl] → [On].
- On your camera, navigate to MENU → (network) → [Bluetooth Settings] → [Pairing].
- On the remote control, simultaneously press and hold the Shutter Release/Video Recording Button and the FOCUS/ZOOM Button (T button) for at least 7 seconds.
- A confirmation message will appear on the camera's screen. Select [OK]. Once pairing is complete, "[Paired.]" will be displayed.
7. Operating Instructions
Once paired, you can use the remote control to operate your camera wirelessly.

7.1 Basic Functions
- Still Image Shooting: Press the Shutter Release/Video Recording Button to capture a still image. Ensure the MOVIE/STILL switch is set to STILL.
- Video Recording: Press the Shutter Release/Video Recording Button to start or stop video recording. Ensure the MOVIE/STILL switch is set to MOVIE.
- Zooming: Use the W (Wide) button to zoom out and the T (Telephoto) button to zoom in. Ensure the ZOOM/FOCUS switch is set to ZOOM.
- Adjusting Focus: Set the ZOOM/FOCUS switch to FOCUS, then use the W and T buttons to adjust the focus.
- AF-ON Function: Press the AF-ON button to activate the camera's autofocus.
- C1 Function: Press the C1 button to activate the custom function assigned to C1 on your camera.
7.2 LOCK Switch
To prevent accidental button presses when carrying the remote, slide the LOCK switch to the "LOCK" position. This will disable all buttons. To resume operation, slide the switch to the opposite position.
7.3 Operating Range
The remote control has an approximate operating distance of 10 meters (32.8 feet) in any direction. Performance may vary based on environmental factors and camera placement.
8. Maintenance
- Keep the remote control dry. Do not expose it to moisture or extreme temperatures.
- Clean the remote with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- If storing the remote for an extended period, remove the CR2032 battery to prevent leakage.
9. Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding: Check if the CR2032 battery is correctly installed and has sufficient power. Replace if necessary.
- Remote not controlling camera: Ensure the remote is properly paired with your camera (refer to Section 6.2). Verify that the camera's Bluetooth function and Bluetooth Remote Control settings are enabled.
- Buttons not working: Check if the LOCK switch on the side of the remote is in the "LOCK" position. Slide it to the unlocked position to enable button functionality.
- Intermittent connection: Ensure you are within the 10-meter operating range. Avoid obstacles between the remote and the camera that might interfere with the Bluetooth signal.
10. User Tips
- Ensure your camera's firmware is updated to the latest version for optimal compatibility and functionality with the remote control.
- For best results, maintain a clear line of sight between the remote and the camera, although it operates in any direction within its range.
- The compact size of the remote makes it ideal for self-portraits, group photos, or video blogging where you need to be in front of the camera.
