8. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: The lock uses 4 AA alkaline batteries. When the battery voltage is low (4.8V), the lock will issue a red light alarm. Replace batteries in a timely manner to ensure continuous operation.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the lock's surface. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Fingerprint Sensor Care: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance.
9. Troubleshooting
- Lock not responding: Check battery level. If low, replace batteries or use Type-C emergency charging.
- Incorrect inputs alarm: If 5 incorrect inputs are made, the lock will temporarily disable for 3 minutes. Wait for the lockout period to end or remove/reinsert batteries to reset.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint, ensuring different angles are captured during enrollment.
- App connectivity issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the lock is awake (press any button). If issues persist, try re-pairing the lock with the app or resetting the lock to factory settings (this will erase all user data).
- Locking direction issues after installation: Perform the 'A-Self check adjustment locking direction function' again as described in the 'Initial Setup and Basic Operations' section.
10. User Tips
- Keep a Physical Key Handy: Always keep at least one mechanical key in a safe, accessible location outside your home for emergency access, especially if the batteries run out.
- Regular Battery Checks: Pay attention to the low battery alarm (red light at 4.8V) and replace batteries promptly to avoid being locked out.
- Familiarize with App Setup: Several users have requested clearer instructions for app configuration. Take your time to go through the 'Tuya APP Setup' section carefully, especially for adding members and setting up temporary passwords.
- Fingerprint Enrollment: When enrolling fingerprints, try to capture different parts of your finger (center, edges) to improve recognition accuracy.
- Virtual Passwords: Utilize the virtual password feature by entering random digits before or after your actual code to prevent others from observing your entry.
