4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

  • Weather Station: Replace the 2 x LR6 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
  • Wireless Sensor: Replace the 2 x LR6 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or if the sensor stops transmitting data.

4.2 Cleaning

Wipe the weather station and sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing. Ensure no moisture enters the device openings.

4.3 Water Resistance

The wireless outdoor sensor is IPX4 waterproof, meaning it is protected against splashing water from any direction. It is not designed to be submerged in water. Protect it from heavy rain or direct water jets to ensure longevity.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No Outdoor Readings:
      - Check if the wireless sensor batteries are correctly installed or need replacement.
      - Ensure the sensor is within the 60-meter transmission range of the main unit.
      - Verify that the sensor's channel switch (C6) matches the channel selected on the main unit (if applicable, refer to the full manual for channel setting on the main unit).
      - Try restarting both the weather station and the sensor.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
      - Ensure the sensor is placed in a location away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or extreme cold, which can affect readings.
      - Compare readings with other reliable thermometers/hygrometers to verify accuracy.
  • Backlight Not Continuous:
      - The continuous backlight feature is only active when the weather station is powered via the USB cable. If running on batteries, the backlight will typically turn off after a short period to conserve power.
  • Display Issues:
      - If the display is dim or flickering, replace the batteries in the main unit or ensure the USB power connection is stable.

7. User Tips

  • For consistent backlight, always use the USB power cable. Batteries are best for portability or as a backup.
  • When setting up the outdoor sensor, consider placing it in a shaded, well-ventilated area to get the most accurate temperature readings, away from direct sunlight or heat-radiating surfaces.
  • If you experience connectivity issues with the wireless sensor, try changing its channel using the switch in the battery compartment and re-pairing with the main unit.
  • Remember that weather forecasts provided by the station are based on barometric pressure trends and are for general reference. For critical planning, always consult official weather services.
