This manual provides detailed instructions for the JBD Bluetooth Smart Battery Management System (BMS) model SP22S003. This intelligent BMS is designed to automatically identify battery string configurations from 6S to 22S, supporting both Li-ion (6-21S) and LiFePo4 (6-22S) battery types. It features built-in Bluetooth for wireless monitoring and parameter adjustment via the 'xiaoxiangElectric' mobile application, and UART communication for PC-based monitoring and configuration. 4. Setup

4.1. Physical Connection

Safety Warning: Always handle batteries with care. Ensure all power sources are disconnected before making any connections. Incorrect wiring can cause damage to the BMS, battery, or connected devices.

Connect B-Wire: Connect the main negative terminal of your battery pack to the 'B-' terminal on the BMS.
Connect C-Wire: Connect the main negative terminal for charge and discharge to the 'C-' terminal on the BMS.
Connect Balance Wires: Carefully connect the balance wires from your battery cells to the 'Balance Wire Port' on the BMS. Ensure the correct order and polarity for each cell. The BMS automatically identifies the number of strings (6-22S).
Temperature Sensors: Connect the external temperature sensors (if used) to the designated NTC ports on the BMS. The BMS supports 1 internal and 2 external temperature sensors.
Discharge Switch Interface: If using an optional discharge switch, connect it to the 'Discharge Switch Interface' port.

4.2. Software Setup

4.2.1. Mobile App (xiaoxiangElectric)

The 'xiaoxiangElectric' app is available for both iOS and Android devices. It allows you to monitor battery parameters and adjust settings wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Download the App: Scan the QR code below or search for 'xiaoxiangElectric' in your device's app store.
Installation: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the app.
Connect via Bluetooth: Once installed, open the app and enable Bluetooth on your device. The app should automatically detect and connect to your JBD Smart BMS.

4.2.2. PC Tool Box (UART Communication)

For advanced monitoring and parameter setting, a PC Tool Box is available. This accessory needs to be purchased separately.

Acquire PC Tool Box: Purchase the UART PC Tool Box accessory.
Obtain Software: Contact customer service to receive the PC Tool Software and its corresponding manual.
Connect to PC: Connect the PC Tool Box to the UART port on the BMS and then to your computer via a USB cable.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Using the Mobile App (xiaoxiangElectric)

The 'xiaoxiangElectric' app provides a user-friendly interface to interact with your BMS:

Dashboard: View real-time battery status, including charge percentage, total voltage, current, and temperature.
Battery State: Access detailed information about individual cell voltages, voltage differences, and protection status.
Parameter View: Monitor various operational parameters of the BMS.
Parameter Setting: Adjust configurable parameters within specified ranges, such as overcharge/overdischarge voltage, overcurrent limits, and temperature thresholds.
Function Setting: Configure specific functions of the BMS.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your JBD Smart BMS, follow these maintenance guidelines:

Regular Inspection: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.
Cleanliness: Keep the BMS free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
Environmental Conditions: Operate the BMS within its specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposing it to extreme heat, cold, or direct sunlight.
Software Updates: Check for and install any available firmware or app updates to ensure you have the latest features and bug fixes.
Balance Function: The BMS features an idle/charge/discharge equalization balance model. Ensure your battery cells remain balanced for optimal performance and lifespan.

7. Troubleshooting

The JBD Smart BMS is equipped with six protection functions to safeguard your battery pack. If you encounter issues, check the following:

Protection Alarms: Use the 'xiaoxiangElectric' app or PC Tool Box to check for any active protection alarms (e.g., overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, high/low temperature, short circuit, balance issues). The app will display specific alarms and cell voltages.
Wiring: Double-check all wiring, especially the balance leads and main power connections, for correct polarity and secure contact.
Voltage Readings: Verify that individual cell voltages are within the normal operating range using the app. Significant discrepancies may indicate a cell imbalance or fault.
Current Draw: Ensure the load current does not exceed the continuous or peak current ratings of your specific BMS model.
Temperature: Monitor battery and BMS temperatures to ensure they are within safe operating limits.
Communication Issues: If the app or PC software cannot connect, ensure Bluetooth is enabled (for app) or the UART PC Tool Box is correctly connected and drivers are installed (for PC).

8. User Tips

Customizing Parameters: Take advantage of the app or PC software to fine-tune protection parameters (e.g., overcharge/discharge voltages, current limits) to match your specific battery chemistry and application requirements. This can optimize battery lifespan and performance.
Monitoring Current Consumption: Regularly check the current consumption via the 'xiaoxiangElectric' app or PC Tool Box. This helps in understanding the load on your battery and identifying any unusual power draws.
UART to CAN Conversion: If your application requires CANbus communication, remember that all UART communication can be converted using a separately purchased UART To CAN converter module.
