Your guide to setting up and using your AIYATO Smart Tag with Apple's Find My network.

1. Introduction

The AIYATO Smart Tag is a compact Bluetooth tracker designed to help you locate your valuable items using the Apple Find My network. It is ideal for tracking keys, wallets, luggage, pets, or even children. This device leverages the vast network of Apple devices worldwide to provide location updates, ensuring your privacy by not storing location data on the tracker itself.

Important Note: This locator is exclusively compatible with Apple iOS systems and is not applicable to Android devices.

4. Operating Your Smart Tag

4.1 Finding Nearby Items

When your Smart Tag is within Bluetooth range of your Apple device, you can make it play a sound to help you locate it:

  • Open the "Find My" app.
  • Go to the "Items" tab and select your AIYATO Smart Tag.
  • Tap "Play Sound". The Smart Tag will emit a loud sound, up to 75 dB, to help you find it.

Note: This feature does not support directional finding (e.g., "Precision Finding" like Apple AirTag).

4.2 Finding Items Further Away (Lost Mode)

If your Smart Tag is out of Bluetooth range, the Apple Find My network can help. When another Apple device passes by your Smart Tag, it will securely relay its location to iCloud, allowing you to see its updated location in the Find My app.

To activate Lost Mode:

  • Open the "Find My" app.
  • Go to the "Items" tab and select your AIYATO Smart Tag.
  • Scroll down and enable "Lost Mode".
  • You can enter a phone number or email address where you can be contacted. If someone finds your Smart Tag and taps it with an NFC-enabled smartphone, they will see your contact information.

The Find My app can also notify you if you leave your item behind, preventing loss.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

Refer to section 3.1 for detailed instructions on how to replace the CR2032 button battery. A fresh battery ensures optimal performance and a longer service life for your Smart Tag.

5.2 Cleaning

To clean your Smart Tag, gently wipe it with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Smart Tag not connecting to Find My app:
    • Ensure your Apple device's Bluetooth is turned on.
    • Check if the Smart Tag's battery is charged or correctly installed.
    • Try restarting your Apple device.
    • If the issue persists, try removing the Smart Tag from the Find My app and re-pairing it.
  • Smart Tag not playing sound:
    • Ensure the Smart Tag is within Bluetooth range of your Apple device.
    • Check the battery level of the Smart Tag.
  • Location not updating:
    • Ensure your Apple device has an active internet connection.
    • For remote tracking, the Smart Tag relies on other Apple devices in the Find My network. If it's in an isolated area, updates may be delayed.
  • Compatibility:
    • Remember, the AIYATO Smart Tag is designed exclusively for Apple iOS systems. It will not work with Android devices.
