1. Product Overview
The Rti-Tek T5Z/T5W is a battery-powered smart thermostat designed for controlling gas boilers or water floor heating systems. It offers intelligent temperature management, energy-saving features, and smart home integration through Tuya Smart Life app, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant.

2. Setup Guide
2.1. Battery Installation
The thermostat is powered by 2 x 1.5V alkaline AA batteries. To install:
- Gently remove the front cover of the thermostat.
- Insert two AA batteries into the designated slots, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the front cover.

2.2. Mounting
The thermostat supports both wall mount and desktop installation. For wall mounting, ensure proper wiring is completed before securing the device to the wall.
2.3. Wiring Diagrams
The thermostat is compatible with gas boilers and valve actuators. Refer to the diagrams below for correct wiring. Always ensure power is disconnected before performing any wiring.

2.4. App Installation and Pairing
The thermostat works with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
- Download the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your smartphone's app store.
- Register or log in to your account.
- For T5Z (Zigbee version): A Zigbee gateway is required. Plug in and set up your Zigbee gateway according to its instructions.
- Open the app, tap '+' to add a new device, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your thermostat.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Interface and Buttons
The thermostat features a clear display and user-friendly mechanical buttons for easy control.

3.2. Operating Modes
The thermostat offers multiple operating modes:
- Auto Mode: Follows the programmed weekly schedule.
- Manual Mode: Allows you to set a constant temperature manually.
- Programmable Temporary Mode: Temporarily overrides the auto mode until the next scheduled event.

3.3. Weekly Programming
You can set a customized temperature plan for 5+2, 6+1, or 7 days a week, with up to 6 heating events per day. Use the 'Mode' and '+/-' keys to navigate and adjust settings.

3.4. Child Lock Function
To prevent accidental changes or misuse by children, activate the child lock. Press and hold the '+' and '-' buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate.

3.5. Frost Protection Function
When activated, this function automatically turns on the heating for a short period if the room temperature drops below a set threshold, preventing water pipes from freezing or bursting.

3.6. Voice Control
The thermostat supports voice control via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Yandex Alice. Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account to your voice assistant app and use commands like "Ok Google, set the HEATER to 15 degree."

4. Maintenance
4.1. Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace the AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Follow the steps in Section 2.1 for battery installation.
4.2. Cleaning
Wipe the thermostat's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your thermostat, consider the following common solutions:
- No Display/Power: Check if batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- No Network Connection: Ensure your Zigbee gateway (for T5Z) or Wi-Fi router (for T5W) is powered on and functioning correctly. Check the app for connection status and try re-pairing if needed.
- Incorrect Temperature Readings: Ensure the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources that could affect its internal sensor.
- Heating Not Activating: Verify that the thermostat is in a heating mode (Auto or Manual) and the setpoint temperature is above the current room temperature. Check wiring connections to the boiler/actuator.
