Initial Charging
The DT11 is powered by a high-quality rechargeable lithium battery. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the device.
- Locate the USB charging port on the side of the device.
- Connect the provided USB charging cable to the DT11 and a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
- The battery indicator on the LCD display will show charging status.
- A full charge typically allows for 5 hours of continuous operation.

Power On/Off
- Power On: Press and hold the 'MEAS' button for a few seconds until the LCD display illuminates.
- Power Off: Press and hold the 'MEAS' button again for a few seconds. The device also features an auto-off function: the laser will turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity, and the entire device will power off after 180 seconds of suspension to conserve energy.
3. Operating Instructions
General Operation

- Menu Button: Used for switching between different measurement modes (single, area, volume, Pythagoras) and viewing measurement history.
- MEAS Button: Initiates a measurement (single or continuous).
- UNIT Button: Short press to switch between measurement units (M/In/Ft). Long press to switch the measuring basis (front or rear edge of the device).
Laser Measurement
- Power On: Press the 'MEAS' button to turn on the laser.
- Single Measurement: Aim the laser at the target point and press the 'MEAS' button again. The measured distance will be displayed on the LCD.
- Continuous Measurement: After turning on the laser, press and hold the 'MEAS' button. The device will continuously measure and display the current distance as you move it. Release the button to stop.
- Measurement Modes: Use the 'Menu' button to cycle through modes:
- Single Measurement: Measures a single distance.
- Area Measurement: Measure two sides (length and width), and the device calculates the area.
- Volume Measurement: Measure three sides (length, width, and height), and the device calculates the volume.
- Pythagoras (2-Point): Used for indirect measurement of height or distance using two measurements.
- Reference Point: Long press the 'UNIT' button to switch the measurement reference point between the front and rear of the device. This is crucial for accurate measurements depending on how you position the device.

Tape Measure Usage
The DT11 includes a traditional 5m (16ft) retractable tape measure. Simply pull out the tape to the desired length. The tape features both metric (M/CM) and imperial (ft/in) markings for convenience. The magnetic hook at the end of the tape allows for easy attachment to metallic surfaces, improving stability during measurement.

4. Maintenance and Care

- Display issues: If the display is dim or unreadable, ensure the battery is charged. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
- Laser not emitting: Check if the device is powered on. If the laser auto-off function has activated, press 'MEAS' again to reactivate.
