5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charging

  1. Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the device's charging port and the other end to the charger.
  2. Plug the charger into a standard power outlet.
  3. The charging indicator on the device will show its status (refer to the device's screen for battery icon or specific indicator).
  4. A full charge typically takes several hours. Once fully charged, the device can operate for approximately 9 hours.

5.2 Battery Installation/Replacement

The device comes with a built-in lithium battery. If replacement is ever needed:

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. Carefully remove the battery cover (location may vary, typically on the back or bottom).
  3. Replace the old battery with a new 3.7V 2000mAh lithium battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Securely reattach the battery cover.

5.3 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually marked with a universal power symbol) until the screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the screen turns off. The device also features an auto-shutdown function to save power.

5.4 Initial Stabilization

After powering on, the device requires approximately 10 seconds for boot stabilization before providing accurate readings.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Real-time Monitoring

Once powered on and stabilized, the device will automatically begin real-time monitoring and display the current readings on the 3.2" TFT color screen. This includes:

  • PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations (in μg/m³)
  • Particle counts for various sizes (0.3μm, 2.5μm, 10μm for TC-8100; 0.3μm, 0.5μm, 1.0μm, 2.5μm, 5.0μm, 10μm for TC-8200)
  • Temperature (in ℃ or ℉)
  • Humidity (in % RH)
  • AQI Grade
  • Real-time date and time

6.2 Navigating the Interface

Use the comfortable operating buttons located below the screen to navigate through menus and settings. Specific button functions may include:

  • ENTER/OK: Confirm selections or enter sub-menus.
  • UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT Arrows: Navigate through options or adjust values.
  • GRAPH: Access the data curve display.
  • C/F: Switch temperature units between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

6.3 Data Recording and Review

The device can store up to 999 groups of measurement data.

  • To Record Data: Data is typically recorded automatically at set intervals. Refer to the on-screen indicators (e.g., "REC: 022 Interval: OFF" as seen in images) for recording status.
  • To View Data Curves: Press the "GRAPH" button to display historical data in a curve graph format. Use navigation buttons to scroll through recorded data.

6.4 PM2.5 Alarm Function

The device features an alarm to alert you when PM2.5 levels exceed a set threshold.

  1. Navigate to the alarm settings menu using the operating buttons.
  2. Select the option to turn the PM2.5 alarm buzzer ON or OFF.
  3. Set your desired PM2.5 alarm value. When the measured PM2.5 concentration surpasses this value, the alarm will activate.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device's exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the casing or screen.
  • Keep the sensor inlets clear of dust and debris. Do not attempt to clean the internal sensors directly.

7.2 Battery Care

  • Recharge the battery when the low battery indicator appears to ensure continuous operation and prolong battery life.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery frequently.
  • If storing the device for an extended period, charge it to about 50% and store it in a cool, dry place. Recharge every few months to prevent deep discharge.

7.3 Storage

When not in use, store the device in the provided storage box to protect it from dust, moisture, and physical damage.
