3. Setup Guide

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Insert the lithium battery into the battery compartment until it clicks into place.

3.2 Mounting to Camera

  1. Slide the controller onto the camera's hot shoe.
  2. Ensure it is fully inserted into the camera's hot shoe socket.
  3. Rotate the locking ring to tighten and secure the controller.

3.3 Attaching Ring Flash to Lens

  1. Select the appropriate lens adapter ring (e.g., 67mm) for your camera lens.
  2. Rotate clockwise to install the adapter ring onto the camera lens.
  3. Align the ring flash with the adapter ring interface and gently snap it into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 General Controls

  • MODE Button: Short press to switch between flash modes (ETTL, M).
  • SET Button: Short press to confirm selections or switch between parameters.
  • Dial: Rotate to adjust values or navigate menu options.
  • Focus Assist Lamp Button: Short press to turn on/off focus assist lamps. Long press to enter adjustment interface.
  • MENU Button: Short press to enter/exit the menu. Long press with Focus Assist Lamp button for reset.
  • Lock Button (integrated with MENU): Long press to lock/unlock the current interface.

4.2 ETTL Flash Mode

  1. Short press the MODE button to switch to ETTL mode.
  2. Setting Overall Flash Exposure Compensation:
    a. Short press the 'Ratio' button. The screen will display 'ETTL' and '+/- Exposure Compensation Value'.
    b. Rotate the adjustment dial to set the exposure compensation value (can be set between ±3 stops in 1/3 stop increments).
  3. Setting A:B Flash Ratio:
    a. Short press the 'Ratio' button. The screen will display 'A:B' and ratio options (e.g., 8:1, 4:1, 2:1, 1:1, etc.).
    b. Rotate the adjustment dial to set the corresponding ratio value.
    c. Short press the 'SET' button to select between exposure compensation value or A:B flash ratio value.
  4. Setting Single-Side Flash (Group A or Group B):
    a. Short press the 'Ratio' button to display 'A B' and exposure compensation value.
    b. Short press the 'SET' button to select flash tube A or B for single-side flash.

4.3 Manual (M) Flash Mode

  1. Short press the MODE button to switch to M (Manual) Flash Mode.
  2. Setting Overall Flash Power:
    a. The screen will display 'M' and output power (e.g., 1/128).
    b. Rotate the adjustment dial to set the output power.
  3. Setting A:B Flash Power:
    a. Short press the 'Ratio' button. The screen will display 'AB' and two output powers (e.g., A: 1/4, B: 1/128).
    b. Rotate the adjustment dial to set the power for each group.
    c. Short press the 'SET' button to select Group A or Group B power. (If Group A outputs flash, Group B can be set to off).

4.4 Wireless Settings

  1. Short press the MENU button to enter the menu.
  2. Setting Flash as Master Light (TX):
    a. Rotate the adjustment dial to select 'WIRELESS'.
    b. Short press SET to enter. Rotate dial to select 'TX'.
    c. Press the SET button to return to the previous level.
    d. Short press the MENU button to return to the master light interface.
  3. Setting Flash as Slave Light (RX):
    a. Rotate the adjustment dial to select 'WIRELESS'.
    b. Short press SET to enter. Rotate dial to select 'RX'.
    c. Short press the MENU button to return to the slave light interface settings.
    d. Short press the SET button or rotate the dial to switch between Group A/B/C/D. For example, switch to D to set this light as slave light D.
  4. Setting Wireless Channel (CH):
    a. In the menu, rotate the adjustment dial to 'CH'.
    b. Short press the SET button to enter the setting interface.
    c. Rotate the adjustment dial to select a channel from 01-32.
  5. Setting Wireless ID (ID):
    a. In the menu, rotate the adjustment dial to 'ID'.
    b. Short press the SET button to enter the setting interface.
    c. Rotate the dial to select OFF or an ID from 01-99.
  6. Setting Master Flash to Flash (TX FLASH):
    a. By default, the master flash is off.
    b. In the menu, rotate the adjustment dial to 'TX FLASH'.
    c. Short press the SET button to enter the interface.
    d. Rotate the dial to select off or on for master flash.

4.5 High-Speed Sync (HSS)

  1. In the menu, rotate the dial to 'SYNC'.
  2. Short press the SET button to enter settings.
  3. Rotate the adjustment dial and select 'H'.
  4. At this time, 'H' will be displayed in the upper right corner of the main screen, indicating HSS is active.

4.6 Front/Rear Curtain Sync

  1. In the menu, rotate the dial to 'SYNC'.
  2. Short press the SET button to enter settings.
  3. Rotate the adjustment dial to select the front curtain sync icon (a single arrow pointing right) or the rear curtain sync icon (two arrows pointing right).

4.7 Focus Assist Lamps

  • Turn On/Off: Short press the focus assist lamp button to turn the lamps on or off.
  • Adjust Brightness: Long press the focus assist lamp button to enter the adjustment interface. Rotate the dial to adjust brightness from level 01-10. Long press the button again to exit.

4.8 Lock Function

  • Long press the MENU/Lock button to lock or unlock the current interface. This prevents accidental changes to settings.

4.9 Reset Function

  • Long press both the focus assist lamp button and the MENU button simultaneously.
  • Continue holding until 'RESET' appears on the screen.
  • Release the buttons. Once 'RESET' disappears, the device has been successfully reset to factory defaults.
