2. Important Safety Information

4. Setup and Assembly

Assembly typically requires two people. Follow the steps carefully. Refer to Figure 2 for component identification and Figure 3 for detailed assembly steps.

  1. Unpack all components and lay them out on a clear, flat surface.
  2. Attach the front and rear stabilizers to the main frame using the provided bolts and washers.
  3. Secure the main upright post to the base frame.
  4. Install the flywheel and crank arms.
  5. Attach the moving handlebars and pedal arms to the crank arms and main upright.
  6. Connect the fixed handlebars and the console support post.
  7. Mount the console/display unit, ensuring all sensor cables are properly connected.
  8. Attach the pedals to the pedal arms.
  9. Double-check all connections to ensure they are tight and secure.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Console Functions

The LCD display provides real-time feedback on your workout. Refer to Figure 4 for console details.

  • Time: Duration of your workout.
  • Speed: Current speed in km/h or mph.
  • Calorie: Estimated calories burned.
  • Distance: Distance covered during the workout.
  • Heartbeat Rate: Your pulse, measured via hand sensors.
  • Scan: Automatically cycles through all display functions.

5.2 Adjusting Resistance

The SJ-2880 features an 8-level magnetic resistance system. To adjust the resistance, turn the tension control knob located on the main upright (see Figure 4). Turn clockwise for higher resistance, counter-clockwise for lower resistance.

5.3 Heart Rate Monitoring

Grip the heart rate sensors on the fixed handlebars firmly with both hands. Your heartbeat rate will be displayed on the console after a few seconds.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the equipment with a damp cloth after each use to remove sweat and dust. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all bolts, nuts, and moving parts for tightness and wear. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Lubrication: Periodically check moving joints for smooth operation. If any squeaking occurs, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the pivot points.
  • Storage: Store the elliptical in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
