5.3 Receiver Connection and Binding

Connect the RX41 receiver to your RC vehicle's ESC and steering servo. Refer to your vehicle's manual for specific wiring diagrams. The receiver and transmitter are typically pre-bound from the factory. If re-binding is necessary:

  1. Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered off.
  2. Connect the bind plug (not included, usually comes with the vehicle) to the 'BIND' port on the RX41 receiver.
  3. Power on the receiver. The LED on the receiver should flash rapidly.
  4. While holding the 'BIND' button on the transmitter (if available, otherwise refer to specific binding instructions for P32-S), power on the transmitter.
  5. Release the 'BIND' button on the transmitter once the receiver's LED turns solid, indicating a successful bind.
  6. Power off both the transmitter and receiver, then remove the bind plug from the receiver.
  7. Power on the transmitter first, then the receiver, to confirm the connection.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Transmitter Controls Overview

Diagram of P32-S transmitter controls including antenna, steering wheel, throttle trigger, disassemblable key, battery box, LCD display, ST trim, +/SEL/CH/Power buttons
Overview of the P32-S transmitter's main components and controls.
  • Antenna: Transmits the 2.4GHz signal.
  • Steering Wheel: Controls the steering of your RC vehicle.
  • Throttle Trigger: Controls forward/reverse movement and speed.
  • Disassemblable Key: Used for handle removal/installation.
  • Battery Box: Houses the AAA batteries.
  • LCD Display: Shows current settings, voltage, and model name.
  • ST Trim +/-: Adjusts the steering neutral position.
  • TRIM +/-: Adjusts the throttle neutral position.
  • SEL/CH Button: Selects channels or menu options.
  • +/- Buttons: Adjusts values in menu settings.
  • Power Button (ON/OFF): Turns the transmitter on or off.

6.2 LCD Display and Menu Navigation

The LCD display provides real-time information and allows for parameter adjustments. Use the SEL/CH, +, and - buttons to navigate and modify settings.

The LCD display shows real-time voltage and channel status.

The display typically shows:

  • Current voltage of the remote control.
  • Name of the current model.
  • Channel status (e.g., CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4).

To access and adjust parameters, press the SEL/CH button to cycle through options, and use the +/- buttons to change values. Refer to the on-screen prompts for specific menu functions.

6.3 Advanced Functions

  • D/R (Dual Rate): Adjusts the maximum steering angle and throttle output. Useful for tuning vehicle response.
  • EXP (Exponential): Modifies the sensitivity of steering and throttle around the center point. Higher EXP values make control less sensitive near center.
  • REV (Reverse): Reverses the direction of a channel's output. Use if your steering or throttle responds in the opposite direction.
  • EPA (End Point Adjustment): Sets the maximum travel for each servo. Prevents over-stressing servos and mechanical linkages.
  • TRIM: Fine-tunes the neutral position of steering and throttle.
  • ABS (Anti-lock Braking System): This function throttles the output channel for automatic brake setting, adapting to different types of race tracks and operating habits. It aims to achieve the best braking effect and control during cornering, preventing swing tail and loss of turning angle.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the transmitter and receiver. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the transmitter and receiver in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the transmitter if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
  • Battery Care: Replace AAA batteries when the low battery warning activates. Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
  • Receiver Protection: Although the RX41 receiver is waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion or exposure to corrosive liquids. Ensure all connections are dry before powering on.
  • Antenna Care: Do not bend or cut the receiver antenna. Ensure it is positioned correctly for optimal signal reception.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Transmitter does not power on. Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. Check battery polarity and replace with fresh AAA batteries.
Vehicle does not respond to transmitter.
  • Receiver not powered.
  • Transmitter and receiver not bound.
  • Out of range.
  • Interference.
  • Ensure receiver is correctly connected and powered by the ESC.
  • Perform the binding procedure (Section 5.3).
  • Move closer to the vehicle.
  • Operate in an area with less 2.4GHz interference.
Steering/Throttle operates in reverse. Channel reverse setting is incorrect. Adjust the REV (Reverse) setting for the affected channel in the transmitter menu.
Vehicle pulls to one side or drifts. Steering trim is off-center. Adjust the ST Trim +/- buttons until the vehicle tracks straight.
Low battery warning on LCD. Transmitter battery voltage is below 4.5V. Replace all 4 AAA batteries immediately.

9. User Tips

  • Range Testing: Always perform a range test in a safe area before operating your RC vehicle at full distance, especially after changing batteries or making adjustments.
  • Environmental Awareness: While the receiver is waterproof, avoid intentionally submerging it or exposing it to harsh chemicals. Always dry it thoroughly after exposure to moisture.
  • Model Memory: Utilize the 15 model memory slots if you have multiple RC vehicles. This allows for quick switching between different vehicle settings without re-calibration.
  • ABS Function: Experiment with the ABS settings to find the optimal braking performance for your specific vehicle and driving surface. It can significantly improve control during aggressive braking and cornering.
  • Handle Portability: Take advantage of the removable handle for easier transport and storage, especially when space is limited.
