1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the Bafang DPC190/DPC191 Bluetooth LCD color display, designed for use with Bafang mid-mounted motors that utilize the CAN communication protocol. Compatible motor models include M510, M600, M560, M800, and M820.

3.1 Display Information

  9. Support level / Walk assistance indicator.
  10. Different modes: Single-trip kilometers (TRIP) - total kilometers (ODO) - Maximum speed (MAX) - Average speed (AVG) - Range (RANGE) - Energy consumption (CALORIES) - Travel time (TIME) - cycle.

4. Normal Operation

4.1 Switching the System ON/OFF

4.2 Selection of Support Levels

When the display is turned on, briefly press the + or - button (less than 0.5 seconds) to switch the support level. The lowest level is 0, and the highest level is 5. The system starts in level 1 by default. There is no support at level 0.

4.6 Service Indication

The pedelec may display a "SERVICE" reminder based on total mileage and battery charging times. If the total mileage exceeds 5000 KM and the Service function is enabled, the "TRIP" position will display and flash the "SERVICE" indicator for 5 seconds when the display is on. This function can be enabled or disabled in the Setting interface.

5. Settings

To access the "Setting" menu, double press the i button. Navigate through options (Display setting, Information, Language, or EXIT) using the + or - buttons, then press i to confirm. If no button is pressed within 20 seconds, the display will return to the main screen without saving changes.

5.1 Display Settings

From the "Setting" menu, select "Display Setting" using +/- and confirm with i. The following options are available:

6. Information Menu

From the "Setting" menu, select "Information" using +/- and confirm with i. This menu provides access to various system details.

6.1 Wheel Size and Speed Limit

The "Wheel Size" and "Speed Limit" information cannot be changed via the display; it is for viewing only.

NOTE: If no data is detected, "---" is displayed.

6.3 Controller, Display, and Torque Information

From the "Information" menu, you can view software and hardware data for the Controller, Display, and Torque sensor. Select the desired option (e.g., "Ctrl Info", "Display Info", "Torque Info") using +/- and press i to view. To exit, press i or select "Back".

7. Language Settings

From the "Setting" menu, select "Language" using +/- and confirm with i. Use +/- to select your desired language (English, Deutsche, Nederlands, Français, Italiano, or Čeština). Confirm with i to save, then select "Back" to return to the setting interface.

8. Troubleshooting

The HMI (Human Machine Interface) can display faults of the Pedelec. When a fault is detected, a "wrench" icon will appear, along with an error code. Please read the error code description carefully. If an error occurs, first restart the system. If the problem persists, contact your dealer or technical personnel.

8.1 Error Code Definition

To view error information for the last ten errors, navigate to the "Information" menu, select "Error Code" using +/-, and press i to confirm. An error code of "00" indicates no error. To clear error codes, press and hold i and Power icon together for more than 2 seconds.

  1. Check the connector and cable of the throttle are not damaged and correctly connected.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect the throttle; if still no function, change the throttle.
05The throttle is not back in its correct position.Check the connector from the throttle is correctly connected. If this does not solve the problem, change the throttle.
07Overvoltage protection
  1. Remove and re-insert the battery to see if it resolves the problem.
  2. Using the BESST tool, update the controller.
  3. Change the battery to resolve the problem.
08Error with the hall sensor signal inside the motor.
  1. Check all connectors from the motor are correctly connected.
  2. If the problem still occurs, change the motor.
09Error with the Engine phase's.Please change the motor.
10The temperature inside the engine has reached its maximum protection value.
  1. Turn off the system and allow the Pedelec to cool down.
  2. If the problem still occurs, change the motor.
11The temperature sensor inside the motor has an error.Please change the motor.
12Error with the current sensor in the controller.Please change the controller or contact your supplier.
13Error with the temperature sensor inside of the battery.Please contact your retailer.
14The protection temperature inside the controller has reached its maximum protection value.
  1. Allow the pedelec to cool down and restart the system.
  2. If the problem still occurs, please change the controller or contact your supplier.

21Speed sensor Error.
  1. Restart the system.
  2. Check that the magnet attached to the spoke is aligned with the speed sensor and that the distance is between 10 mm and 20 mm.
  3. Check that the speed sensor connector is connected correctly.
  4. If the error still exists, please contact your retailer.
25Torque signal Error.
  1. Check that all connections are correctly connected.
  2. If the error still exists, please contact your retailer.

8.2 Warning Code Definition

To view warning information, navigate to the "Information" menu, select "Warning Code" using +/-, and press i to confirm. A warning code of "00" means there is no warning. To clear warning codes, press and hold i and Power icon together for more than 2 seconds.
