1. Introduction and Important Safeguards

The ThundeaL TD98Pro is a 1080P Full HD projector with 4K decoding support, Android OS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and auto-focus features, designed for home theater and various multimedia applications. This manual provides essential information for safe and effective use.

Important Safeguards

  • Installation: Use the projector in a dark room. Handle carefully; dropping or crashing may damage parts or result in blurred images.
  • Power: Use the power cord carefully to avoid bending. Unplug the power cord after switching off the projector.
  • Cleaning: Unplug the power cord before cleaning. Clean the shell with a damp cloth and neutral detergent. Use a glasses' cloth or lens paper for the lens to avoid scratches. Regularly clean vents and speakers with a banister brush to prevent blockages.
  • High Temperature Attention: The exhaust port will be very hot during or immediately after use; do not touch. Do not look directly into the lens during operation.
  • Warning: Do not place liquid or heavy objects on the projector. To ensure stable heat dissipation, open the height bracket at the bottom of the projector before use.

3. Setup and Installation

Standard Setting (Projection Distance)

Adjust the picture size and projection distance (from the lens to the screen) according to the table below. Allow ±3% tolerance for image sizes. If the distance is outside the min/max data, the image may be blurry.

Installation Methods

Contact a professional installer to mount the projector to a ceiling. The lifting device should be able to withstand 4 times the weight of the product. Follow the instructions below for correct projector positions.

Warning:

  • Incorrect mounting may cause irreparable damage.
  • Operate only in environments between 0°C and 35°C to prevent malfunction.
  • Avoid dusty, wet, moist, or smoky conditions to prevent malfunction.
  • Poor ventilation can lead to overheating, damage, and safety hazards.

4. Operation

Turn the Projector On/Off

  • Standby: When connected to power, the projector enters standby (red indicator).
  • Power On: Press the power key on the body or remote control (indicator turns blue).
  • Power Off: In working state, press the power key on the body or remote control (indicator turns red).

Image Focusing

If the image is blurred, use the remote control to adjust focus:

  • Press "F+" or "F-" on the remote control to adjust the lens focal length. Tap or long-press until the picture is clear.
  • Auto Focus: (Available in auto-focus version only) Do not block the camera during auto-focusing.

Projection Settings

From the main interface, long-press "Menu" to enter settings. Select "Projection Mode" to choose your desired installation mode:

  • Front Table
  • Rear Table
  • Front Ceiling
  • Rear Ceiling

Correction Settings (Keystone)

From the main interface, long-press "Menu", then navigate to "Keystone Settings" and select "Corner Correction". Use the remote's arrow keys to adjust the screen ratio. Press "OK" to enter the second corner adjustment. Repeat until the screen is adjusted to your needs. Press "Menu" to reset to the original screen.

  • Auto Keystone: Ensure "Auto focus with moved" is ON. This function automatically corrects the image when the projector is moved.

Digital Zoom

From the main interface, long-press "Menu", then select "Zoom In/Out". Use the remote's up/down buttons to adjust the screen ratio. Press "Menu" to reset to the original screen.

Selecting Input Source

Press the signal source button on the remote control. A pop-up window will appear. Select the desired input (e.g., HDMI1, HDMI2, USB) and press "OK" to enter the corresponding interface.

Connecting to WiFi

From the main interface, long-press "Menu", then select "Network Setting". Choose your desired WiFi network from the list, enter the password, and confirm. "Connected" will appear next to the network name upon successful connection.

Connecting Bluetooth

From the main interface, long-press "Menu", then select "Bluetooth Settings". Turn on Bluetooth, search for devices, and pair with your desired device.

Downloading Apps

From the main interface, select "APPS", then "App Store". Browse and download desired applications. Installed apps can be managed through the "APP store".

Reading Files from U Disk

Press the signal source button on the remote control and select "USB". Once in the USB interface, select your U disk and browse for the file you wish to view or play.

Using iOS Cast (AirPlay)

From the main interface, select "APPS", then "Airpin (PRO)". Press "OK" to enter the interface and follow the on-screen instructions. The projector must be connected to the internet.

  1. Ensure your iOS device and the projector are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. On your iOS device, open Control Center and select "Screen Mirroring".
  3. Choose the corresponding projector device name from the list.

Using Miracast (Android Mirroring)

From the main interface, select "APPS", then "My apps", and find "Android Mirroring". Press "OK" to enter the interface and follow the on-screen instructions.

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi on your Android device. (It is recommended that the projector is connected to the same router, or the Android device's Wi-Fi is not connected to any router).
  2. Turn on "Wireless Display" on your Android device.
  3. Select the corresponding projector device name.

6. Multimedia Format Support

For AVI/MKV/MOV/AC3 video formats, it is recommended to download VLC player, MX player, or KOD Player from the app store for decoding and playback.

Warning: This model does not support Dolby audio decoding due to Dolby patent copyright restrictions.

  • Model Verification: Always verify the model number of your projector upon receipt to ensure it matches your order and the correct manual is being used.
  • 3D Content: The projector supports Anaglyph Red and Blue 3D movies. Ensure your 3D content is in this format for compatibility.
  • Power Plug: The package includes a power cable suitable for your country (EU, UK, US, AU plug).

8. Troubleshooting

  • If under PC mode, the PC output frequency is not 50-60Hz. Make sure that the PC output is connected with the projector.
4. Auto-off.
  • The projector ventilation is blocked.
  • The voltage is not stable.
  • The projector has overheated - check that the fan is not broken.
