Thank you for choosing the Bisofice Film and Slide Scanner. This device is designed to convert various film types and slides into high-resolution digital images, allowing you to preserve and share your precious memories. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your scanner.

3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the scanner's components and controls:

  • Power ON/OFF Button: Turns the device on or off.
  • Left/Right Buttons: Navigate through menus and options.

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Powering On and Language Selection

  1. Connect the Type-C cable to the scanner's Power Cable Interface and the other end to the power adapter. Plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  2. Press the Power ON/OFF button to turn on the scanner.
  3. On the initial screen, use the Left/Right buttons to navigate to the 'Language' option and press OK.
  4. Select your preferred language (e.g., English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese) and press OK.

4.2 Loading Negative Film (135, 126KPK, 110, Super8)

  1. Take out the appropriate Negative Adapter for your film type.
  2. Hold the negative film up to the light to identify the correct orientation. Ensure the right side of the negative faces you.
  3. Open the Negative Adapter. The side with the "open" logo should face you, and the side with the "<" logo should face down.
  4. Carefully place the negative film into the recessed area in the holder.
  5. Close the negative holder and press the edges so that it locks securely in place.
  6. Insert the loaded Negative Adapter into the Negative Slot on the right side of the film scanner.

4.3 Loading Slides

  1. Take out the Slide Adapter.
  2. Hold the slide up to the light to identify the correct orientation.
  3. Open the Slide Adapter. The side with the "open" logo should face you, and the side with the "<" logo should face down.
  4. Carefully place the slide into the recessed area in the holder. Films can also be loaded as a strip into the slide holder, forming a drawer type.
  5. Close the slide holder and press the edges so that it locks securely in place.
  6. Insert the loaded Slide Adapter into the Negative Slot on the right side of the film scanner.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Scanning Films and Slides

  1. After loading your film or slide into the appropriate adapter and inserting it into the scanner, the image will appear on the 5-inch LCD screen.
  2. Navigate to the 'Resolution' option using the Left/Right buttons and press OK. Select your desired resolution (14M or 22M interpolation) and press OK. Note that Super8 films are limited to 6M and 126KPK to 16M.
  3. Navigate to the 'Film Type' option and select the correct type for your loaded film (Color Negative, B&W Negative, Slide Positive, Super 8, 110, 126KPK, 135). Press OK.
  4. Once the image is displayed correctly, press the 'Scan & Menu' button, then press 'OK' to save the scanned image to the internal 16GB memory.

5.2 Adjusting Color

The scanner allows for basic color adjustments:

  1. While viewing a scanned image, navigate to the color adjustment options (usually indicated by R, G, B sliders).
  2. Use the Left/Right buttons to select the color channel (Red, Green, Blue) you wish to adjust.
  3. Use the Up/Down buttons (or corresponding navigation) to increase or decrease the color intensity.
  4. Press 'OK' to apply changes and save the image.

5.3 Connecting to a Computer

To transfer scanned images to your computer:

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on.
  2. Connect the Type-C cable to the scanner's Power Cable Interface and the other end to a USB port on your computer.
  3. On the scanner's screen, select the 'USB MSDC' option (Mass Storage Device Class) and press OK.
  4. Your computer should recognize the scanner as a removable storage device. You can then access the scanned images (JPEG format) from the internal 16GB memory and copy them to your computer.

5.4 Connecting to a Large Screen (TV)

To view your scanned images on a larger display:

  1. Connect the HD Data Cable (HDMI) to the scanner's HD Data Interface and the other end to an HDMI input on your TV or monitor.
  2. Select the appropriate HDMI input on your TV/monitor.
  3. The scanner's display will be mirrored on the larger screen, allowing you to view and navigate your scanned images.

6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your scanner:

  • Cleaning the Scanner: Use the provided cleaning brush to gently remove dust and debris from the film slot and internal components. Avoid using liquid cleaners directly on the scanner.
  • Cleaning Film/Slides: Before scanning, ensure your films and slides are free of dust and fingerprints. Use a soft, lint-free cloth or specialized film cleaning solution if necessary.
  • Storage: Store the scanner and its accessories in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

Q: The scanner does not power on.
A: Ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected to both the scanner and the power adapter, and that the power adapter is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
Q: Images appear blurry or dusty.
A: Clean the film/slide surface and the scanner's film slot using the provided cleaning brush. Ensure the film or slide is correctly seated in the adapter.
Q: Cannot transfer files to the computer.
A: Ensure the scanner is connected to the computer via the Type-C USB cable and that 'USB MSDC' mode is selected on the scanner's screen. Check your computer's file explorer to see if the device is recognized.
Q: Super 8mm films are not digitizing as video.
A: The Bisofice Film and Slide Scanner digitizes Super 8mm films frame by frame, producing still digital images, not video files.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal image quality, ensure both the film/slide and the scanner's internal components are free of dust before scanning. Use the provided cleaning brush regularly.
  • When scanning Super 8mm films, remember that the scanner captures individual frames as still images, not continuous video.
  • Experiment with the color adjustment settings (Red, Green, Blue) to achieve the best possible color balance for older or faded films.
  • If you encounter any issues, double-check all cable connections and ensure the correct film type and resolution are selected in the scanner's menu.

10. Warranty and Support

The Bisofice Film and Slide Scanner comes with a 12-month manufacturer's limited warranty for defective items from the date of receipt. Accessories are covered by a 3-month warranty. This warranty does not cover items damaged or misused after receipt.
